The Kingman Rifle and Shotgun Club was organized in 1909, the first rifle club in Arizona. The club sponsored a rifle match every year from 1909-1914. In 1911, the club held its first shotgun match. The matches were considered to be important competitions as they helped promote shooting sports in Kingman. In 1912, theclub established an official record for the world’s best 10 shot aggregate at 100 yards using shotguns. This event was known as the "World Match." In 1914,the club started sponsoring a pistol match which continued until 1937. In 1929,the kingman Rifle and Shotgun Club moved to its current location on US 191 near State Route 66 in Kingman. At this time it became one of the most popular rifle clubs in Arizona due to its wide variety of firearms available for membership including all types of rifles (including single or double-barrel shotguns). The club has sponsored various events such as annual Trap and skeet championships since 1951 and also hosted several international tournaments over the years including two World Cup tournaments each in 1973 and 2007.

In 1915 Jimmie Hargrave founded the Kingman Creameries which remains one of America's largest food retailers today with over 100 stores across eight states and Canada operates out of two locations in Kingman and Sun City Center Mesa AZ

Kingman, Arizona is a small town in the Mohave County seat of Kingman, Arizona. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Phoenix metropolitan area. The town was founded by Mormons in 1868 as a dry goods store and post office called Salt Lake City on the east bank of the Little Colorado River. In 1875, it became a city under Spanish rule but reverted to Mormon control in 1896. The mining industry declined after World War I and social unrest followed; however, Kingman has bounced back from its lows and been one of Phoenix's most vibrant communities since its incorporation as a city in 1968. The first white people to arrive in Kingman were Mormons who came from Utah in 1868 for trade with Mexico. They built their first home on what is now First Avenue North about 1850-1851. A year later they organized an LDS colony and named it Salt Lake City after their leader Brigham Young’s former home state (now Utah). In 1870–71 David White settled on what is now Second Avenue North near where First Avenue meets Central Street; he soon started trading goods with Mexicans living along the Little Colorado River north of his rancho (today’s Kingman). White’s store attracted additional settlers over time, including some Latter-day Saints who had left polygamy behind when they converted to Mormonism during the Great Famine of 1847-52. In 1895 Tucson annexed Kingman because it was adjacent to Tucson’s newly established district and because Mexican authorities thought that annexation would help forestall Mexican efforts to annex Apache land northwest of Tucson which lay within Cochise County and could have implications for Navajo land also lying within Cochise County boundaries east of Tucson proper. After annexation, Mayor José Gomez kept control of the government while members from both cities worked together to develop downtown into an attractive commercial center with theaters, restaurants, shops and other amenities that drew people away from Apache country until becoming fully integrated into Tucson society by 1912 or 1913 when hostilities between Apache Indians and Ute Indian ranchers erupted again leading to raids by federal forces againstApache cattle herds which had become a major source of income for many Pima residents during this period After conquering much Apache territory following these raids many Pima men decided not to fight against United States forces anymore so peace returned gradually through treaties negotiated among various Native American leaders throughout 1915-1916 resulting finally in Apaches ceding all their lands southward except certain parcels still held by individual Apaches . On January 12th 1919 President Warren G Harding signed Executive Order 9706 makingKingman an administrative law enforcement jurisdiction for all Maricopa Counties jurisdiction
Kingman was founded in 1867 by John Kingman and his brother, George. The brothers were responsible for the development of the town and their lumber business became one of the most successful in Arizona. In 1912, Kingman was named a county seat and remained so until 1959.
