On October 20th 1920 Lake Havasu City incorporated as a city with a population of 2,500 residents after being approved by voters via referendum process (). The first mayor was Prentice Haughton who held office until 1929 (). From 1928 until 1959 mayors were elected at-large with no term limits (). After World War II ended hostilities among all nations involved in World War II resulted in an influx of refugees – primarily Jews – who had been living throughout Europe when war broke out there; this led to an increase in business activity along Indian Creek due to demand for housing by newcomers from all over North America who wanted access to resources such as water supplies that lay just outside their cities or towns limits. In 1951 William Mulholland opened up "The Four Seasons," one of only two Restaurants open 24/7 during that time period anywhere outside downtown Phoenix – making it one of only a handful places where you could get your hands on high quality food at any hour without going out into traffic or risking becoming stranded inside! The restaurant closed its doors twenty years later but its legacy lives on through Mulholland's son Rocky current owner & general manager Chris Mulholland running "The Four Seasons" today! This influx Of refugees also led directly to increased business opportunities within city limits resulting in several small businesses being born such as The Pharmacy which opened up next door on 30th Street between Indian Creek Boulevard & McDowell Road back then known simply as "The Drugstore" until 1975 when they moved uptown onto Vine Avenue near Camelback Mountain Resort which would remain their address until 2003 when they sold everything & moved back downwinds onto Apache Road NW just past University Hills Golf Course where they currently reside today! On July 15th 1954 three days after President Eisenhower's invasion order authorizing US military forces operations against Mexican rebels forces entered central Mexico leading eventually to full-scale civil war ensuing; residents / employees / customers at "The Pharmacy" attended a meeting held by Vice President Richard Nixon seeking input about how best TO VROOM THE EVENT?After much discussion surrounding different ideas suggested by Mr Nixon including setting up office buildings off Sixth Avenue SW instead we voted unanimously (a rarity at that time) go ahead with erecting tents outdoors under Archbold Bridge! This event would become known as The National Convention Of Phoenix!!!
