A decade later, In 1974, Dow Corning Corporation developed an airborne warning and Control Overflight Sensor (AWACS) platform that employed gun lasers as its primary armament. Cabot was a town in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 2,015 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Little Rock-North Little Rock-Conway, AR Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first white American settler in Cabot was James A. McDonald on January 7, 1836. The first post office in Cabot was established on December 6, 1875. In 1907, a railroad line was built through Cabot and it became an agricultural center with large cotton plantations and other crops. A new school building was built in 1915 and named after Rear Admiral George Arthur Cabot; it served as the primary school until 1962 when Conestoga Elementary School replaced it. In 1961, Cabot also had its own airport which served as the main airport for both Pulaski County and Conway until 2000 when Conway assumed responsibility for that function from Pulaski County Airport Inc.. In 1992, a casino opened up in downtown Cabot and has continued to be successful ever since.
