The first public school was opened in 1870; it was called Park School because it stood on parkland next to Park Avenue Station on Southern Pacific Railroad tracks which led into Los Angeles County. From this small schoolhouse students walked to nearby schools such as white elementary schools on Manchester Avenue (west side), Baldwin High School (north side), Koreatown Elementary School (east side),Goodyear Elementary School (south side) and Westlake High School (west Side). In 1901, when Los Angeles County became part of the United States he served as its first president pro tempore; during his term there were several additions to the city including Beverly Hills which was annexed from Santa Monica about 1915-16; Cahuenga Pass annexation followed about 1922-24; Winnetka annexation followed about 1925-27; North Hollywood annexions took place about 1930s although some sources claim they occurred earlier such as an 1898 article reporting “voters having passed resolutions requesting that North Hollywood be annexed” On October 24th 1920 Los Angeles City Councilman James Kirkpatrick proposed that within ten years all neighborhoods east or west of Highland Boulevard should become part thereof with just two exceptions: Beverly Hills which would remain separate until 1912 while Culver City would become part only after 1916 when the western portion became Culver City Heights;[5] this idea became law known as Community Consolidation Plan No. 1! It is interesting to note that despite this plan becoming law many neighborhoods still did not join up until much later because they felt left out or didn’t have enough representation from central LASA/city government officials during these early years especially given how rapidly LA grew both geographically AND economically! One example worth pointing out is Wilshire Blvd., originally northbound but eventually southbound following community consolidation plans[6] . This indicates how important neighborhood Input was during those early days when creating growth patterns for cities!
