Cerritos, California is a city in the San Bernardino County of Southern California on the Pacific Coast. Cerritos first became an incorporated town on November 3, 1907. The population was 382 at the 2010 census. In 1911, Cerritos annexed parts of unincorporated Downey and Tujunga valleys. On July 1, 1912, Downey and Tujunga were combined into one municipality under the name Cerritos. A year later, on October 25, 1913, the City of Cerritos was created from portions of Downey and Tujunga municipalities with a population of 447 citizens. On January 1st, 1916,[1] Cerritos annexed part of La Crescenta Valley to its south as well as several other unincorporated areas within Los Angeles County such as Garden Grove and Huntington Beach. From 1916 until it merged with neighboring La Crescenta in 1951,[2] Cerritos had three separate cities: La Crescenta (1916-1951), Cerrito ( 1907-11 ), and Parkfield (1896-1916). In 1951[3], both La Crescenta and Cerrito amalgamated into one city with a population over 67500; this made Parkfield Pasadena's second most populous city after Los Angeles proper. The City Council established a park system which still exists today in Parkside Boulevard between Anaheim Street and Western Avenue east of downtown. This street runs from north to south through much of Downtown LA serving as an important commercial corridor for the city center
Cerritos, California is a city in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County, California. The population was 93,763 at the 2010 census. It lies on Cerritos Peninsula on the southwestern coast of Pasadena. The first Europeans to visit Cerritos were Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo and his men in 1542. They named it San Miguel de Aguayo after Aguayo Point on Santa Monica Boulevard in Downtown Los Angeles. The town site was patented by Manuel Nieto in 1859 and name changed to Cerritos in 1866 when residents voted to change their community's name from "Aguayo" to "Cerritos". In 1907, developer Waddell Coolidge donated land for a Naval Air Station at Cerritos which became an airbase during World War II. After World War II, ceramics increased as production of plastics increased due to postwar demand for new housing stock and other materials used in plastic manufacturing. It wasn't until the early 1970s that ceramics began declining as new plastics replaced them as the dominant industry choice; however, this trend has reversed over time with recent growth in ceramic artisanship across various genres including craft pottery and tableware design Today ceramics remain one of Southern California's most popular arts and craftsmenial traditions with many studios still located throughout the cityscape

Cerritos, California is a small town in Ventura County, California. The population was 5,829 at the 2010 census. Cerritos is located on the eastern edge of the City of Ventura and is bordered by Hanford to the east, Lompoc to the south and west, and Thousand Oaks to the north. It is easily accessed by Interstate 5 which runs through its center. The first Europeans to arrive in what is now Ventura County were Spanish Missionaries who established a mission in 1797. In 1821 Mexico gained independence from Spain and formed its own government named after Jesus Christ called Republic of California. The Mexican government set out to divide California into strips for their soldiers and administrators; this plan went wrong when it came time for them to division up land among themselves and they ended up with parts of what are now Ventura County as well as Los Angeles County (which includes Hollywood). On January 14, 1853, two days after Santa Catalina Island was acquired by the United States following Californias admission into the Union as a state on February 12th, Cerritos became part of Los Angeles County. It wasn’t until 1915 that Cerritos saw any development at all when namesake Hermann Preyer founded his Preyer Aircraft Company here; however he did not live long enough to see his products being put into use let alone see his company grow into one of Southern Californias largest employers. That changed with World War II when over 60% of Cerritos’ workforce served within Naval Base Long Beach during hostilities waged against Japan; industry would boom once again starting in earnest following America’s entry into World War II with an increase in aircraft production at nearby Douglas Aircraft Corporation plants including those here at Cerritos Airport which had been built during wartime restrictions on military aviation activity near domestic airports only providing commercial service such as passenger flights. With post-war prosperity came new residents looking forOsaka Village/Pacoima areas close thereto for easy access to jobsites while also accommodating some retiree housing developments clustered around various shopping malls just outside town limits becoming home base for many workers commuting back and forth between townships within Price Canyon Regional Park or beyond depending on work needs vagaries or other priorities that arose during peacetime times Away from pesky neighbors they could enjoy life going golfing or tennis outdoors etcetera Came about so many things since then but mainly Name change 2 ceritos & annexation yr later
Cerritos was founded in 1849 by John Cerritos. The first post office was established in Cerritos on May 10, 1850. In 1853, the first school was built in Cerritos and named Simeon School. On November 21, 1861, the town became a city and was renamed Cerritos City. On February 1, 1912, the city got its own airport which served as the local airport until 1974 when it merged into Los Angeles International Airport.
