Gun magazines have been around for centuries and their history in El Monte, California can be traced back to 1892. The first gun magazine in the city was called the "El Monte Rifle & Pistol Club." It was a small, irregularly shaped building located on Sixth Street between Foothill Boulevard and Park Avenue. The club was organized by John S. Kapp, a farmer who also ran a grocery store on Sixth Street. The club met twice each week to discuss arms and ammunition. In 1896, the El Monte Rifle & Pistol Club moved to its current location at Seventh and Market Streets. That same year, it became the first city-owned gun magazine in California. At that time, it was run by Captured Dutch Schultz and his brother-in-law George Hirschfeldt. In 1898, Captured Dutch Schultz died from tuberculosis while living in El Monte; his death left the magazine still run by his brother-in-law Hirschfeldt. In 1903, another new owner took over the magazine: Julius Streicher Jr., an advertising executive who lived on Fourth Street between Vine and Market streets. Streicher bought the magazine with plans to make it into a leading firearms publication throughout Southern California. However, he never fully realized those plans because he died of syphilis two years later at age 33 (he is buried at Mount Hope Cemetery). The next owner of the magazine was Otto Von Kotzschke who purchased it from Streicher in 1911 for $1,000 cash plus 10 acres of land on which to build a printing plant for the magazine—the first such facility in Los Angeles County. Von Kotzschke made many changes to the paper layout and production methods used by Streicher before he sold it to Harry Blackmun in 1916 for $3 million dollars ($ as of 2018). Blackmun turned out to be one of El Monte's most significant gun owners during its heyday; within five years of buying von Kotzschke's journal there had already been several major firefights involving local police officers using its pages as cover (see Gun Control History section below). Under Blackmun's ownership, GUN Magazine became one of LA's most influential publications with an extensive coverage of both handgun news and target shooting events across Southern California (including several shoots at Universal Studios Hollywood). Unfortunately for BLACKMUN NEWS SERVICE INC., World War II intervened early on and GUN Magazine ceased operations completely after just six issues due largely to wartime shortages (it resumed publication two months after Pearl Harbor ended) – though some old gunslinger regulars continued contributing content until well into 1949! When GI Bill enrollment began arriving from America’s colleges during World War II everyone wanted accessoires including guns! Photosynthesis happening indoors with all those windows open started up levels 2/3” deep+ Gun mags were filled with digestible cellulose film so GIs wouldn’t get dysentery+ This type gentleman had what I call an American Winchester Model 1897 rifle chambered 4mm Remington Magnum bolt action rifle complete with scope baseplate sling swivel studded leather holster complete with built-in bipod this bear could shoot accurately 100 yards out if needed but unfortunately because our ammo ration stopped right before we could ship him home I didn’t get any good pictures taken or anything like that but you get my point

El Monte, California is a city in San Bernardino County, California, United States. The population was 56,967 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Greater Los Angeles Area and is located on the eastern edge of the City of Angels. The first people to live in what is now El Monte were Native American traders who traveled through this area on their way to trade with other tribes in Rancho Cucamonga and Inland Empire regions. The first European settlers arrived by way of rancho criollo land grants given in 1853 to José Antonio Alvarado and Vicente María Cisneros. A small community known as Rancho Buena Vista was established soon after, but it declined due to lack of water availability and disease brought over by travelers. In 1866, two brothers named George Witherow purchased some agricultural land east of town from Manuel Nieto for $2 per acre. They built a cabin called Buena Vista Station on their farm which served as an ice cream parlor until 1924 when it was replaced by a modern structure that still serves as a restaurant today. This pioneer development helped spur further settlement in what would become El Monte; Witherow's heirs eventually donated another 640 acres (250 km²) for housing and industrial use in 1928-29. The post office atBuena Vista opened on February 14, 1868; the name change came about because mail delivery services then took place via stagecoach rather than wagon across wider areas like today. By 1870, First National Bank had been founded here too with JH Shields serving as its first president; Shields became mayoralty candidate in November 1870 despite being challenged by incumbent John Sutter (another early settler). One important event during these early years occurred when cattle rustlers killed three men while they were driving home from market hours; this led to increased security around railroad lines at that time and helped turn Mirror Lake into one of America's most popular waterfowl hunting preserves during the 19th century! Since agriculture was not yet an major industry hereabouts there wasn't much growth until oil discoveries began occurring along Interstate 10 near Lancaster Field beginning in 1911-12 timeframe: Oil production really began picking up here following World War I when new refining plants were erected nearby thanks to wartime needs for gasoline products! At this point businesses started popping up all throughout town - including several hospitals/academias such as La Salle University where many students graduated during those days! After WWII ended things slowed down again but didn't stop completely until 1970s-1980s due mainly to recessionary times intensity within U .S . Amongst other things !! However recent arrivals have definitely contributed alot towards current overall vibe & character around town :)

However, the collapse of the Imperial Oil Company in 1908 led to a decline in El Monte's fortunes; the town lost its nickname of "Rancho Santa Anita" to nearby Petaluma. In 1913, Mayor J.B. Hennessey negotiated the sale of the city's downtown for $4 million to Samuel Goldwyn, who renamed it Hollywood after his production company. In 1938, El Monte became an incorporated city with a population of over 200,000 people. It is home to California State University at Monterey Bay (CSUMB), one of California's largest universities and one of its most prominent research institutions.
