The grant was accepted and Olvera donated 160 acres (65 ha) of his rancho lot along with associated buildings and infrastructure including a water tower designed by George Washington Hilliard. The original town center was developed around these facilities with several distinct districts: North Gables (now Midtown), Highland Park (now Downtown), South Pasadena (Now Near Minty), Claremont Heights (later Claremont Village), Magnolia Hills (later Willowbrook Village), Mayfair East (later Laurel Canyon) and finally Old Town which still exists today as part of western Riversideshire neighborhood in downtown Los Angeles
