The history of scopes in Temecula, California can be traced back to the early 1800s. A group of men from New York City founded a company that manufactured and sold optical instruments. The company was known as the American Optic Company. In 1876, the company created a new product called the AO-1 microscope. The AO-1 microscope was designed to help scientists study small objects close up. It featured a 20x magnification lens and could be used with an eyepiece that allowed users to view objects at various distances. By 1892, the American Optic Company had become part of Wellcome & Co., which became one of the world's largest commercial enterprises. Wellcome & Co.'s products were distributed through more than 400 dealers around the world. In 1916, Wellcome & Co.'s president, Charles Peake, purchased an old mill in Temecula for use as their new headquarters. The mill had been built in 1875 by John Smeaton and his brother-in-law James Wattisford Jr.. At first, Peake intended to use the mill only for storage purposes. However, he soon realized its potential as a research facility for medical equipment manufacturers such as Bayer and J&P Smith Laboratories Ltd.. With money from sales of its products and donations from prominent businessmen such as Mrinal Pandit and Sir Henry Wotton, Peake began investing in scientific research into optics and other fields including photochemistry and photoelectricity. This led to him developing what is now known as well-known modern telescope tubes: HeNe Elaborate Tube Scopes (HETS). In 1936, Wellcome & Co.'s HetS telescopes were installed on Mount Graham at Kitt Peak National Observatory in Arizona Territory during World War II by Major General Leslie Ritchie under Project Orion! During World War II interest in astronomical research increased due to advances in Warfare Technology ! scope types available included; Schmidt CCD reflector/cameras (production), Baader Reuter hypercube reflectors (production), Meade LX2 Dobsonian mounts (production)

The first European to visit what is now Temecula were two Spanish missionaries who arrived in 1771 and named it Rancho San Pedro de la Laguna for Governor Pedro Menéndez de Avilés. In 1821 the Mexican government granted Rancho Santa Ana to James Irvine, father of José Ignacio Irvine y Real (1813-1892), one of Mexico’s leading land speculators and developers. In 1853, following passage of the Guadalupe Victoria Act creatingCalifornia as a United States territory, ranchos were founded within present-day Orange County by Mexicans seeking access to rich gold and silver deposits that lay beyond Mission Bay on Angel Island near San Francisco Bay. The town of Irvine was founded about a mile northeast of present-day Temecula on Father Junipero Serra Boulevard which led from today’s Old Town center into then open agricultural land east of today’s junction of State Route 101/Upper State Route 58/Old Town Road where Front Street meets Interstate 5 (I-5) just south of downtown Temecula filled with small family farms operationally since before World War II As early as 1854 there were people living along both sides of Rte 101 between Old Town Rd./State Route 58 & I-5 Airport Blvd., across I-5 from Downtown Temecula !! All these dwellings are still standing but have been heavily renovated or replaced over time with heavy commercial properties taking their place !!! Most buildings built during this era remain unaltered except for some restoration work done many years ago

During World War II some spotters decided to use their Spotting Scopes in order to help guide artillery rounds during battle because of the importance of accurate sighting information. The first scopes were designed and built by Nicholas-Jacques Conte in 1795. The following year, Conte’s brother-in-law, Giovanni Battista Ricci, created a new type of telescope called the “telescope microscope”. In 1802, English scientist John Herschel developed a newtype of telescope called the “Herschel Telescope” which could resolve objects up to about 100 meters away.
Temecula is located in Riverside County, California, about thirty-five miles east of San Bernardino and eighty-seven miles west of Los Angeles. The town was founded in 1887 by Fortunato Lomas and his wife, Maria. The name comes from the Spanish Temescal which means "little mountain." The first post office in Temecula was established on May 3, 1889. In 1912 the community became a city. The population of Temecula peaked at over 100,000 during the 1930s but has since declined to around 50,000 today. Two main industries that have played a role in keeping the town's economy afloat are agriculture and recreation. A major attraction for visitors is the Temescal Springs Recreation Area which offers hiking, swimming, fishing, and horseback riding as well as a variety of restaurants and shops. Additionally there are several golf courses located within walking distance of the town center including one that has an Olympic size pool!
The Temecula Valley is located in the south-central part of California. The valley was formed by the San Andreas Fault, which runs through it. The temecula Creek and its tributaries were originally named for Temecula, a small town in the valley. At one time, Temecula had a population of over 10,000 people.
