A large lumberyard became operational in 1865 and continued to be operated until it closed around 1984. During World War II (1939-1945), Twin Falls served as a major airbase for American forces engaged in the war effort throughout North America. The largest facility built here was Air Force Station Weiser which housed up to thirty bombers and fighter aircraft during its construction beginning in 1942. After World War II ended, twin falls lost its military significance but saw increased development due to its location as an agricultural center for surrounding counties.

The Denton brothers Mill Creek Brewery, which still stands today, became the first brewery in Twin Falls. In 1907, the Twin Falls Post Office was built and remained in operation until it closed on October 15th, 1967.
