Centralia, Illinois is a town in Kane County, Illinois, United States. The population was 12,873 at the 2010 census. Centralia is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The city of Chicago had a population of 20 million as of 2019. The name "Centralia" comes from an Indian word meaning "headquarters." This appellation was given to the town by General Andrew Johnson in 1867 when he founded and surveyed the townships that make up Kane County. Centralia was incorporated as a village on March 15, 1868. It became a full-fledged city on January 1, 1912. Centralia is located in east-central Kane County and borders Northfield to the south and Cooksville to the north-east. The village's boundaries were changed on November 5, 1998 when it amalgamated with nearby Burr Ridge and Villa Park to form the new City of Centralia/Burr Ridge/Villa Park Township (T6N7R). In 2013–14, Centralia initiated negotiations with Aurora Municipal Partners LLC for annexation into Aurora Municipal Partners’ city limits; however these discussions ultimately failed because Aurora has more citizen votes than Centralia does property owners (57% vs 43%). In early 2018 Mayor Vincent Janssen announced that he would not seek re-election in 2020 due to health concerns which led to his departure from office effective September 30th, 2018

The first revolver magazines were also invented by Nicholas-Jacques Conte, but they only held rounds per shot, instead of multiple rounds like modern revolvers do. In 1837, George Stephenson patented his own revolver magazine design which would become known as the Stephenson Gun Magazine. The Stephenson Gun Magazine was later improved to create the Spencer Revolver Magazine in 1859. By 1861, all rifles had been standardized with double-barreled chambers so that there was no need for separate gun mags for each chamber (the individual round feeding mechanism became known as an "action"). All rifle models now had standard barrel lengths and overall diameters so that all calibers could be accommodated within the same firearmmagazine size range without having to purchase additional magazines or adapters for different calibers. Shotguns began becoming available with 12 gauge ammunition starting around 1892 and eventually went all the way up to 20 gauge in 1935. Cartridges such as buckshot and birdshot started being offered in both 12 gauge and 20 gauge GUN MAGAZINES beginning back when shotgun pellets were still considered small enough to fit inside a typical gun's case

Centralia is a small town in Kane County, Illinois, United States. It was founded by Daniel Boone in 1814 as the village of Germanna. The first post office in Centralia was established in 1819. In 1830, the name of the town was changed to Centralia after the central river Valley north of it. A school was built in Centralia in 1834 and a Methodist church was erected there in 1838. The town's first newspaper, The Pioneer, was published from its inception until 1850. From 1861 to 1865, Centralia served as capital of Illinois under General Winfield Scott during the American Civil War over issues such as slavery and reconstruction. After Scott's departure from Chicago, Centralia reverted back to its original name and declined further incorporation until it became an incorporated city on January 1, 1907. As an incorporated city, Centralia experienced rapid growth due to the agricultural production that characterized much of Kane County at that time; however, development also caused environmental problems which led to increased activism by citizens over those concerns over the next few decades culminating with a campaign for rerouting arterial highways through Centralia beginning in 1973 which ultimately failed
Centralia was founded in 1847 by a group of farmers who were looking for a place to settle. The town was named after the central square in Athens, Greece. Centralia grew quickly and soon had a population of over 100 people. In 1853, Centralia became the first municipality in Illinois. The town continued to grow and by 1870, it had become a city with a population of over 4,000 people. Centralia's growth stopped around 1880 when the railroad came through the town.
