McKinney in 1873 on the site of present day Council Bluffs, Iowa. In 1886, it was reincorporated as Dodge City, Kansas and remained so until 1957 when it became Sherman County's county seat. The Hutchinson Chiefs also played for several seasons in the United Football League before being moved to Omaha after they were expelled from that league following doping allegations against their players; they later returned back to Dodge City under new ownership before being disbanded again in 2017.
