Roseville is a small town located in the state of Michigan. The population was 7,848 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Lansing-East Lansing, MI Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town is named after John Rose, an early settler. The first post office in Roseville was established on December 14, 1868. The present post office building was built in 1907 and is a two-story brick structure with a projecting gable roof. The building has been used for many years as the local High School gymnasium and also serves as the Village Hall. The village of Roseville was incorporated on November 3, 1957. At that time it consisted of just over one hundred individuals who resided on both sides of the county line which bisected their village boundaries. Today there are only a few remnant residents remaining from when incorporation occurred and most activities now take place within or around the new village center which opened in 2009 adjacent to State Road 97A (now I-96). According to the United States Census Bureau, Roseville has a total area of , all land. As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 6,913 people, 2,982 households, 1,711 families residing in the town proper and 2 miles (3 km) north of its limits along US Highway 12/Milepost 17; 5 miles (8 km) east by south through Farmington Hills; 8 miles (13 km) west by northwest along Saginaw River Road; 1 mile (1½ km) wide strip between US 12/US 97A and SR 97A lying east side extending into neighboring Township Of East Lansing - all these areas forming Celebration Township (); population density: 908 people per square mile (319/km²). There were 3231 housing units at an average density of 421/sq mi (158/km²). Hispanic or Latino make up 33%

In 1906, $5 million was raised to build an expressway through Mackinac Island and its townships so that people living on the island could get access to jobs in Detroit or other cities without having to go downriver. The road was completed in 1914 and became known as I-75; it now runs through most of Roseville Township and a few miles into Clinton Township. In 1925, rosewater became a popular flavoring for ice cream after American manufacturers began using natural flavors (e.g., vanilla) instead of artificial colors (which can cause skin irritation). At first, only local producers made rosewater ice cream; however, by 1930 more companies had begun producing it too, allowing for wider distribution and creating demand for higher-quality products than ever before. Roseville, Michigan was a village in Wayne County, Michigan until it was merged into Detroit on July 1, 1892. It was founded in 1871 by farmers who moved from the town of East Lansing.
