It was started by a man named John A. Nugent in 1892. In 1903, the first issue of the “Minnesota Tribune” featured an article about gun cartridges. At that time, there were only six GUNS mags in the state of Minnesota! In 1911, a man named Harry Hargrave founded the “Hargrave Rifle and Pistol Club” in Elk River. He began purchasing rifles and pistols from local farmers and supplying them with magazines to keep them safe and healthy. The club soon became very popular and continued to provide this service until 1954 when it disbanded because of budget cuts. In 1927, another man named Harry Hargrave established the “Elk River Gun Club” in order to continue providing these same types of services to his customers. This club also purchased guns from local farmers and enjoyed similar success until it disbanded again due to budget cuts in 1978. Today, there are still many GUNS mags operating throughout the United States! They provide important resources for shooters of all levels of experience, as well as being an essential part of American history!

Elk River is a small river located in the extreme eastcentral corner of Minnesota. The name Elk River comes from the Sioux word elks, meaning deer. The first white settlers arrived in this area in the 1830s, and at various times it was part of Dakota Territory, Minnesota Territory, and South Dakota Territory. In 1858, when Minneapolis became a city, the river was divided between Minneapolis and St. Paul on its north side and Elk River on its south side. Today, most of what is now Elk River belonged to Minneapolis until 1997 when it was transferred to Saint Paul as part of a larger land swap with rural residents in southern Ramsey County for land near Mankato. The first Europeans to explore this area were French miners who prospected for gold near present-day Duluth in 1824-25. By 1840 about seventy men had been exploring this region for gold but no discoveries were made due to thick forest cover and steep hillsides that made getting equipment up these hills difficult. In 1849 an American party led by John A. Lindgren discovered $20,000 worth of gold on top of Canby Hill which later became known as “Lindgren’s Hill” after him. This discovery inspired other American parties including David Blackwood who also found gold near present-day East Mankato in 1850 before returning home with his share along with three others (Fulton Lewis, Wm Butterfield and Levi Le Roy) which formed what is called the “5th Party” back then because they covered 5 miles (8 km) each day traveling over open country without encountering any natives or friendly tribesmen while seeking their fortune east of Red Wing Lakes where they prospected for two years before coming back home empty-handed in 1852 but with some valuable specimens taken as souvenirs back to America during that time period called “Hawksbill Gold Rush”). These early explorers not only led to further exploration but also set down roots here permanently creating what we know today as the Twin Cities metropolitan area – one hundred years ago today! In 1861 Strom Thurmond became governor of Minnesota after defeating Abraham Lincoln during the Ulysses S Grant–Strom Thurmond Election campaign giving birth to what is now known as “the Thurmond Dynasty” although he never actually served as governor because he lost eligibility due to being impeached twice within four months each time; however he did serve terms through 1865 until his death less than year later at age 77 despite being bedridden due to a stroke caused by food poisoning contracted while living abroad while serving as United States Minister Plenipotentiary at London England! For many years thereafter there was much political speculation surrounding who would succeed him since no one could have won an election against such powerful adversaries even if they wanted too! In 1916 Governor James Guthrie appointed Orville Wrightenberg attorney general making him second only behind Adolph Gruening who had been premier since 1907 despite having no real legal experience whatsoever other than being speaker of the house once! After Guthrie’s death suddenly resigned becoming head football coach at Drake University where he still coaches today! Finally just two weeks prior to his inauguration date Woodrow Wilson announced via telegraph from Princeton New Jersey that he would be running for president instead becoming America’s 37th president!! This event started what are known generally as “The Great Depression” affecting northeastern US communities particularly those located within 10 miles (16 km) or so of Chicago Illinois whereas people further west fared much better!) Today there are more than 1 million people living adjacent or surrounding Elk River including many farmers, hunters/gatherers, fishermen, etc., all relying on its water resources for drinking purposes irrigation purposes and industry including manufacturing products such as paper boards used both domestically and exported around the world from here; furthermore there are several businesses related directly or indirectly thereto such include: Iver Johnson Corporation whose product line includes JBL noise cancellers built here starting back before World War II; First National Bank founded here by Nicholas Murray Butler circa 1870 continuing till 1971 when it merged into Wells Fargo bank); Hennepin County government building completed circa 1917 housing county government offices plus numerous courtrooms throughout different parts thereof providing judicial overflow capacity whenever needed especially during holidays etc.; Pioneer Trust Company established 1901 doing business originally through donation drives brought overland from Canada aboard ox carts like those common then across North America; finally Elk Rivers Casino opened 2001 allowing gambling services herein plus several high end restaurants/bars inside casino & hotel premises catering principally towards tourists visiting this beautiful countryside location nestled among rolling wheat fields & towering pine forests close enoughto smell either air pollution emanating form various downtown areas nearby OR see hundreds if not thousands daily participating therein in various activities thoroughly enjoying all aspects thereof regardless!!!!
The Elk River flows through the center of Elk River, Minnesota. The river was named for a group of elks that were killed in a hunting accident on the river.
