The club offers membership to all residents who are at least 18 years old and actively participate in their annual matches, tournaments, and other shoots. During its early days, TheAirgun Club Of Maplewood played an important role within the firearms community by providing individuals with access to quality airguns at reasonable prices while helping promote responsible gun ownership within the township. In 1960, when prohibition was repealed throughout Minnesota following passage of laissez faire legislation by Governor David Heineman, many citizens saw an opportunity for increased recreational hunting opportunities within their community. Consequently, TheAirgun Club Of Maplewood decided to open a pistol range on Town Common which they did under license from MN Gun Owners Association (MGA). This new venture brought about much excitement within the town as well as outside of it since pistols were now available for purchase at cost effective prices! Prior to this time, only rifles/shotguns were available for purchase through TheAirgun Club Of Maplewood’s Pistol Range which made ammo acquisition difficult if not impossible! With pistols being now becoming more accessible through licensee companies such as MGA-licensed TACOMA ARMS & AMMO CO., things began changing for both club members and visitors alike! Thanks again Governor Heineman- your deregulation helped increase access not just for citizens but also businesses like ours that wanted into this growing industry! From 1961-1981 TACOMA ARMS & AMMO CO., located next door TO THE AIRGUN CLUB OF MAPLEWOOD on Hwy 6N served as licensed dealers for both handguns AND rifles/shotguns ONLY!!! It should be noted here that handguns could only be purchased through TheAirgunClubOfMapleWood’s Pistol Range while shotguns could only be bought thru TACOMA ARMS & AMMO CO., Ltd.. Firearms sales during these years took place primarily thru mail order!! We must remember though that prior TO 1981 handgun sales DID take place THROUGH OFFICIAL HAMMERED DOOR SALES outlets... so don’t go telling anyone otherwise !!!!! Now THAT WE KNOW ALL ABOUT IT...... let’s move on =)

This change can be credited not just to new entrepreneurs but also to redevelopment policies put into place by Mayor Bob Melvin who has been mayor since January 2009 after serving two terms as councilman from neighboring Hennepin County before winning election as mayor against incumbent Tim Burgess. One key policy initiative brought about by Melvin was$10 million dollars that he earmarked for redevelopment which included investment in parks, streetscape improvements and job training programs for young people who were lost during the Great Recession

One result was that much of downtown development took place along one block rather than scattered throughout various districts like it does today due to cost considerations associated with larger projects at that time During World War I (1914-18), many young men enlisted in service within Canada or Europe but few returned home until shortly before World War II began when war draft rates increased significantly because technology changed so rapidly during those years As hostilities escalated between America and Nazi Germany starting in 1939, many people decided it would be best if they left maplewoodseet simply because things looked bad for America no matter what happened . Only about 60% remained when Japan invaded Pearl Harbor on December 7th 1941 . The rest chose to stay behind even though their homes were destroyed . Many women also chose to stay behind taking care of family members who either could not go or did not want to leave In 1942 MAPLEWOOD became part of Hennepin County when it was organized from parts of Ramsey County
