Maplewood, Minnesota is a small city located in the southwest corner of Minnesota. It has a population of just over 100,000 people and it is the third-largest municipality in the state of Minnesota. The city was founded in 1858 and it became an incorporated town in 1893. Maplewood’s history goes back to when many farmers lived hereabouts and they used local ammunition to shoot game. In 1912, Maplewood shooting range opened up and attracted more shooters from around the area. Ammunition production started here in 1928 and by 1960, Maplewood had become one of the most important ammo producers in the Midwest. In recent years, however, manufacturing activities have been gradually discontinued as new technologies have taken over for traditional printing processes for making handguns and other firearm rounds. Today though, maplewood’s arsenal still manufactures some interesting handgun rounds such as 9mm Luger bullets which are used by law enforcement agencies all over America.

Maplewood is a small town located in the Minnesota state of Minnesota, about 20 miles south-southwest of the larger city of Minneapolis. The population was 1,838 at the 2010 census. Maplewood is part of the Minneapolis–St. Paul metropolitan area and is adjacent to Saint Cloud,MN. The first recorded mention of Maplewood dates back to 1836 when Pierre Dorion traveled through this area on his way from Montreal to Dakota Territory. He noted that there were "a few cabins" in what is now Maplewood, but no village or town had yet been founded. In 1854, John Aitken platted what would become Maplewood on land that he had purchased from the Nicollet County government for $1 million (equivalent to $ as of 2019). In 1860, Maurice Nemeroff improved and developed land near present day Maplewood Avenue and Old School Road. His company built what became known as Nemeroff's Mills which processed cotton until it was replaced by DuPont's Cotton Belt mills in 1922. Nemeroff's Mills was among the earliest businesses in Maplewoods history and still operates today as a family-owned business with over 150 employees. At its peak production capacity it produced up to 180 buseshels of cotton per day - more than any other American mill during its era! The original name for Maplewood was "Lakefield". When township meetings were called at various points along Lakefield Boulevard (now Interstate 35W), residents would nominate a meeting place for the upcoming week before voting on whether or not they wanted their meeting site located at "Lakefield". The first meetingever held in Cloverdale Township occurred on October 15th – three weeks after incorporation – and it was decided that "Maplewoood" should be used as an alternate name for their new township! A store building at 123 Main Street (now inside Griggs Elementary) served as our first municipal hall starting in 1906 which we continued until 1970 when we moved into our current building next door which I remember being brand new! We have also hosted several annual events such as county fairs and Fourth Of July picnics since then! It has been an amazing experience having all these events here in ourTownship Hall where everyone can come together and celebrate!"

MAPLEWOOD, Minn. is a small town located in the far northwest corner of Minnesota, about 30 miles north of Minneapolis. The population was 638 at the 2010 census. Over the years Maplewood has been called "The Gem of the North" and "The Friendly Village". Maplewood was founded in 1881 by John Wessels and his wife Anna as a farming community on a tract of land owned by Herman Zimmermann. In 1885, Miss Clara Barton, founder of the American Red Cross, moved to Maplewood from her home in Stroudsburg, PA and started an orphanage there. In 1912 when prohibition made alcohol illegal inMinnesota, Maplewood became one of the first places in the state to allow unrestricted alcoholic sales. One local historian said that “the spirit of Prohibition never died” even though it was outlawed statewide in 1922; it continued to be sold clandestinely throughout much of Minnesota until finally being repealed by Governor Arne Carlson on April 14th, 1933″ (Fletcher). In 1934 Maplewood lost its charter as a village because residents refused to pay taxes required for village investitures and meetings were held instead at Mankato instead (Pope). It regained its charter in 1951 after an appeal from Mankato (Harrison). On May 10th 1957 voters passed an ordinance granting township status to Maplewoods Main Street which had been closed to traffic since its original designation as an arterial road servicing rural homes only (Bednarik). The Township changed its name back to Municipality on November 1st 1959 due primarily to pressure from farmers within Township who hoped that their land would become part of what eventually became downtown Minneapolis (Pope). A switch occurred on February 15th 1966 when all municipalities within Minnesota were given city status with full powers over zoning and development rules. In 1990 City Park opened adjacent to downtown after years of planning by Mayor Norm Coleman and his staff led by Planning Director Dirk Waldron-Jones .Maplewood's rich history can be seen throughout downtown areas such as Pioneer Square where streetcars stop outside busy churches during services for pedestrians/ cyclists/ motorists then cross Cedar Avenue into central business district; along Main Street near MLK Elementary School with beautiful Arts & Crafts buildings built between 1850-1920; around First Methodist Church dating back prior to incorporation 1916; northeast corner off South High Street just east off I-345(exterior) until recently occupied by PetSmart store before conversion into apartment building There have been many events that took place here during different eras like: John Wessels founded Maplewoods while living in India where he came across potatoes while walking through thick forest - this inspired him to start growing potatoes here which led him into farm tenancy later mapleton becomes a village
Maplewood, Minnesota was originally organized as a town in 1854. The population grew rapidly after the railroad arrived in the area in 1872 and the town became a major transportation center. Maplewood was named for maple trees that had been growing plentifully near the town by 1872.
