By 1976, infrarot weapons had become available after being demonstrated by United States Marine Corps during Operation Neptune's Spear against Viet Cong forces in South Vietnam (Boydell & Wehner, 1978). With this new technology, infrarot weapons could be fired from ships and airplanes without having any obstructions between the weapon and target(Fletcher & Tilton 1990). Development of infrarot guns continued until 1992 when it was abolished by United States Congress because it was considered too dangerous(Fletcher & Tilton 2000). Since 1996 there has been much debate over whether or not gun lasers should be banned because they are potentially dangerous(Norman et al., 2003; cf Fletcher & Tilton 1990; Inouye et al., 1978; Boydell & Wehner 1978). There is evidence thatguns with Lasers can cause serious injury if fired inaccurately(Crouch et al., 1995; Olson et al., 1988), although no fatalities have ever occurred due to use of these devices(cf Fletcher & Tilton 1990; Inouye et al., 1978) . Maplewood is a small town in the Twin Cities metropolitan area in Minnesota. The population was 3,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul Metropolitan Statistical Area and is located about thirty miles south of downtown Minneapolis on U.S. 61. The land that would become Maplewood was first settled by Hennepin County residents in 1851 as part of a wagon road from Dakota Territory to Illinois. The name maplewoods comes from an early settler’s description of what he saw when he arrived: “A great forest, one half mile wide at its widest, filled with pines and other trees so large as to form complete forests within their own limits; it looked like some beautiful purpling landscape seen afar off” (Johnston). When this original village was founded, it was located on the east side of Ulysses S Grant Boulevard, just north of the present day intersection of Cedar Avenue and Maple Street. In 1872, a post office called Maplewood was established within what would later become Maplewood Township; this office remained in operation until 1911. In 1907, a group of farmers decided to build a new town near them on land they had purchased along US 61 west of Interstate 30/Ulysses S Grant Boulevard; they named their new settlement after General Ulysses S Grant because he had been their patron during their earlier days as farmers (Frost). Unfortunately for those pioneers who started out so enthusiastically, things didn’t go quite according to plan and within ten years most all traces of the old community had disappeared save for two churches which still stand today: First Baptist Church – now known as Trinity United Methodist Church – and Second Presbyterian Church - now known as Our Lady Help Of Christians Parish Hall - both located just north of Highway 6 exit 205 off I-30/US 61 southbound). Although there are no period homes currently standing in or around Maplewood Village, there once were several businesses which remain significant: A & W Carpet Store before moving out into larger stores such as Walmart; cash registers still line up inside many local businesses dating back to World War II including Sears Roebuck & Co.; hardware store Hardware Merchants Inc.; post office Postal Annexe served by ZIP code 55436 (now zip code 55441); grocery store G&M Grocery Inc.; restaurant Garden Buffet operated by Olive Garden Corporation until closing down in 1996; civic center Old Central Library serving mostly agricultural functions until being renovated in 2001 starring musician Neil Patrick Harris performing at halftime during Super Bowl XXXIV weekend) All three churches mentioned have been preserved and maintain active congregations todayalthough only First Baptist remains open regular services since 1973 while Second Presbyterian closed over 50 years ago but reopened briefly in 2013 before permanently shuttingtered again Today Maplevood has 3 schools Grades PreK through 8th grade Including MAPLEWOOD Middle School which opened its doors September 2016 . The town council consists five members elected directly via secret ballot each year plus 1 member appointed by governor term ending Dec 31st 2020 . township supervisor also does some law enforcement work along with emergency response service provided by sheriff

Maplewood is a small town in Hennepin County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 8,567 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Hennepin County. The first settlers in Maplewood were entrepreneurs and farmers who arrived in 1847. In 1852, they built a log cabin on the current site of Maplewood Academy. They names their new community after maple trees that grew near their farmhouse. The village began to grow rapidly during the 1860s when railroad developers came to look for a place to build tracks between Minneapolis and Chicago. The town was incorporated on February 22, 1865, and quickly became an important center for trade and commerce. By 1870, Maplewood had become home to over 1,500 people. During World War I, the town served as an Army base housing troops from all over Minnesota and Wisconsin until it was closed in 1918. After the war ended, many of the businesses closures followed - including one clothing store which went out of business in 1922 due to economic conditions caused by prohibitionism (a time period where alcohol was still legal). However, some businesses such as a furniture store remain open today and continue to serve as a major source of revenue for Maplewood residents In 1955, Maplewood experienced its first tornado outbreak when three tornadoes touched down within minutes of each other near the town limits- claiming at least nine lives across Hennepin County In 1967-1968 when college students visiting campus moved into newly developed areas around Cedar Lake Estate they created demand for homes so much so that prices increased 300%. When no homes could be found afterschool hours pricing decreased 50% causing another issue with affordability which has been ongoing through today’s market values Today there are several restaurants located within walking distance including KFC and Best Buy while larger grocery stores are located just outside city limits including Kroger supermarkets . There is also potential development planned for downtown area but details have not yet been released
Maplewood was a small town in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area before it became the city of Minneapolis in 1899. The population of Maplewood increased to ninety by 1870 and by 1880 it had reached one thousand five hundred. Two years later, the community had two post office buildings and a school. In 1886, maple syrup production began and Maplewood developed as a commercial center for the industry. In 1899, Minneapolis annexed parts of Stroudsburg Township (now Maple Grove) east of downtown; this move made Maplewood an incorporated city with its own police department and fire Department. It also created new housing opportunities for the growing population of Maplewood; by 1905, there were over one thousand homes in the city limits alone. A new library was built at Eighth Avenue and University Street in 1911; it served as both a municipal courthouse and branch library until 1985 when it was dedicated as the Robert Boker Library after Mayor Bob Boker's wife
