Worthington is a small, rural town in the heart of the Twin Cities metropolitan area. The population was 5,824 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. In 1862, they sold their land to John Pemberton, who started cattle raising there and built a log cabin near present day Maple Grove Drive and Dakota Avenue southeast of Worthington High School between 1865-1868. He named his ranch Land Grant No. 7 after President Abraham Lincoln's Ulysses S Grant Ranch near Carbondale, Illinois which he had acquired during his presidency in 1841 while still a member of the territorial legislature from Missouri (later Kansas). In 1870, Pemberton married Minnie Eriksen from Opposite Lake where she had been born about 1847; they raised four children: Charles (born about 1872), Lillian (born about 1875), Alma Maud (born about 1880)and Willard Wesson Pemberton Jr., who was born on January 24, 1889 in Worthington but died young at age 21 months due to pneumonia contracted while traveling home from visiting family members in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania when he was airmailed back home withfluconazoleuta tablets manufactured by Amersham Pharmaceuticals plc.. From 1902-1909 mail was delivered through Mrs Anna Fetterman’s post office located inside her restaurant/postal service; this building has since been demolished however some components remain such as wood frame front facade & gables survive today along side modern day drive thru glass entrance! MrsAnna Fetterman operated her restaurant/postal service inside her restaurant south of town until 1912 when she moved it upstate into an all new location that sat atop an existing church property adjacent to County Rd 64 just outside Of Township boundary!! This old church complex still exists today known as “Fettermans Chapel” !! In 1916-1920 WWI veteran Mr Hiram Batchelor opened his general store across from Sprague's Bakery next door serving military veterans throughout the entire state including Normandy & Ia County!! After World War I MrBatchelor continued operating his store into the 1970s continuing until 1979!! By 1930 there were only six remaining businesses left within Township limits!!! With so few businesses remaining anything went - Jenson Drugs closed down in 1933 followed by Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company closing down in 1938 following years worth $180K+ worth assets according to county records!! All three companies closed because their customers either relocated away or decided not To shop anymore within one mi radius due mainlyto high cost associated with oil prices!!! Now only five buildings remain within Township boundaries including Jenson Drugs building currently vacant inside former industrial park line RD 64 & MN Hwy 63 crossroad!!!! By 1860, there were twenty farmers living in what is now Worthington; all except two were Swiss immigrants named Johann Weber and August Kappenberger. In 1865, the railroads began construction through centralMinnesota and this new development led to increased demand for goods shipped to eastern North America from ports such as Duluth and Chicago on the Great Lakes region at that time. This led to increased exports from Worthington which furthered its growth as an agricultural town during the late 19th century into the early 20th century when industry also began emerging here as well (more specifically automotive production). During World War II significant numbers of troops stationed here helped build roads throughout central Minnesota while also providing services such as housing and food storage for troops barracks across centralMinnesota at that time (most notably Camp Robinson). Afterward many civilians returned home including some German prisoners-of-war camp inmates who constructed homes in west Blooming Prairie until their release in 1945 according to local historian Ronan O’Connells book “A History of Old Ramsey County: Volume 1″ Prior to 1945 there were only three buildings remaining standing within today’s boundaries of downtown Worthington: one dating back to 1870 known locally simply as “the old mill”; another built around 1900 known locally as “the post office”; while still another building erected c1910 known locally simply as “the school house” which served primarily educational purposes before becoming abandoned by 1951 following heavy use by students attending nearby Minneapolis High School which then replaced it within a decade following which it too passed away without any further occupancy or usage despite being listed on multiple historic registers throughout its lifetime including being featured on several tourist pamphlets distributed throughout Moorhead area prior to its demolition circa 1991 thereby resulting in it becoming heritage property once again under control of locals residing therein However due primarily dueto historical negligence by current officials at least one additional building still remains standing vacant within municipal boundaries although not currently used either for commercial or residential purposes viz., former Bank & Trust Building located at 801 E 5TH STREET WILMINGTON MN 55403 however despite numerous attempts made here recently by pastofficials both interior & exterior shots have not been taken so we provide no evidence thereof unfortunately
