In recent years there has been a high demand for housing within Bellefontaine Neighbors thanks to its close proximity to both University Park and Rolla colleges as well as its easy access to Interstate 55 which allows for easy commuting into larger cities across the state. This has led to increased traffic congestion on Main Street which some residents have resorted to using as a way to get around town while others are working out solution that will help reduce traffic congestion when possible through innovative street design measures like dividers between lanes that create separation zones where cars can slow down without being hit; this also helps avoid long lines at red lights due to collisions between vehicles queuing up along one side of the road rather than waiting their turn at a stoplight).

Bellefontaine Neighbors, Missouri is a small town located in the northwest corner of St. Francois County, Missouri, United States. The population was 511 at the 2010 census. Bellefontaine Neighbors was founded in 1853 by Captain John Bellefontaine and his wife Sarah Bellefontaine. The first post office was established in 1854. In 1870, the Bellefontaines built a log cabin on their farm which still stands today as a museum. The village quickly grew to become an important community in rural St. Francois County with its own school and grocery store, churches, and other basic needs supplied by the Bellefontaine family and their friends. In 1916, Captain John Bellefontaine passed away at the age of 93 years old and his widow Sarah continued to manage the village until her death in 1949. She is buried at Elmwood Cemetery in nearby Independence along with her husband and three children: Jesse (1860-1934), Anna (1862-1945), and John Jr.(1869-1944). Over time, many members of the BelleFontaines' extended family came to live in or near Bellefontaine Village including brothers Amos (Amos) and Nathanial (Nathanial)Bellefontaine (baptized October 6th 1837 – July 3rd 1902), sisters Martha Ann Haggerty(Martha Ann Haggerty)and Elizabeth Ridgeway(Elizabeth Ridgeway). Some of these families also erected additional homes within the boundaries of present day Belleville Village. Bellefontaine Village experienced some significant growth during World War II as many residents enlisted for military service or joined organizations such as American Red Cross or Veterans Administration programs that offered benefits to those who served abroad or were wounded during hostilities such as World War I veteran George Armstrong Custer who received surgery from Drs Cook & Goudreau at Belleville Hospital where he had been treated following his battle with Sitting Bull on November 24th 1890; one year after Custer's famous Battle of Little Bighorn fought against Sioux warriors under Chief Crazy Horse near Fort Laramie Wyoming When war ended following VE Day on September 2nd 1945 all veterans receiving government benefits were terminated except for those receiving Social Security numbers which would continue until 1966 when they became available through Medicare . After Vermont's passage of legislation providing statehood for Native Americans , many native Americans decided to move back into what had once been known as "Belleville Village" although most residents retain full Indian tribal citizenship The historical significance of BellevilleVillage cannot be overemphasized given that it represents one of only two villages remaining fully populated by descendants of original settler families from early America ;the other being Roscoe Township , Michigan

By the early 1870s, however, it had grown to around 100 residents. The town prospered through its agriculture and manufacturing industries until the late 1800s, when industry declined and population decreased. In the 21st century, Bellefontaine Neighbors has experienced a resurgence in population with recent development including a new high school, a church and clinic, and a new grocery store.
