Kalispell, Montana is a thriving town located in the southwestern corner of Montana. The population was estimated at 9,898 as of 2010. Kalispell is the county seat for Butte County and has a considerable amount of cultural significance to the area due to its significance in the history of Montana. The first white people arrived in what is now Kalispell during the 1850s and by 1871, they had established a trading post on the Klondike River. By 1893, they had also founded a small town named after them, Kalispell. The name “Kalispell” means “to calm away from danger” in Kiowa Indian language and this story may have started as an early warning system against possible hostile Indians. In 1892, when gold was discovered near Lander, Wyoming, many western miners started heading east for the riches that were being found all over America. One group decided to head west to find new territory and establish their own Claim in Butte County including what is now Kalispell. They called their settlement “Butte City” after nearby buttes which often served as fortresses against hostile Native Americans. Over time butte county changed hands several times between various groups of settlers before it finally became part of Montana Territory in 1912 under President Woodrow Wilson’s New Deal program. The creation of this territory allowed easier annexation by other states so Butte County quickly became part of Colorado with its current boundaries set back about 120 years by federal bureaucrats! It wasn't until 1951 that Butte County voted to incorporate as a municipality under then-Mayor Royce Wickersham who championed its importance within community planning initiatives throughout his tenure which spanned more than 30 years! In 2007 Village Councilwoman Lori Meeks adopted Resolution No 7 stating that: "the Towne (sic) should be proud to be home to one(of)，if not both，the two oldest school districts serving Douglas & Butte Counties". Today both Douglas and Butte Counties are served by member townships within Adams County outside of Colorado Springs where Kalispell once stood! Today's economy relies heavily on mining activities such as coal mining; logging; agriculture; manufacturing; service industry; and tourism providing employment opportunities for locals as well as tourists who visit during winter months while skiing or snowmobiling around central snowboarding mecca Aspen Meadows National Park or take advantage of local fishing opportunities available year-round along both sides of the Missouri River gorge known simply as "The Glimmering Range"

Kalispell is a small town in the U.S. state of Montana. The population was 1,549 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Helena–Montana Metropolitan Statistical Area. The settlement was founded in 1876 by members of the Kalispell and Glacier National Park Railroad as a stop on their extended railroad journey from Billings to Butte. The name comes from French Kalispe (meaning "rocky mountain"). The first store opened in 1878 and taught by Mrs. Fetterman, who also served as postmistress for many years. A school was built in 1879 and called the Ladies' School; it closed in 1978 but reopened as Pioneer Elementary School in 1992 when that town went through annexation by Kalispell. In 1907, Kalispell became a city under territorial jurisdiction of Great Falls, Montana Territory; however, it retains its ZIP code 10472 because it falls within Great Falls County (not including Helena). In 1959, Kalispell voters passed an ordinance allowingouls to be elected directly from individual residences instead of via partisan ballots; this led to the current form of government which is bicameral with Mayor-Councils (the mayor makes all decisions except for capital projects) and a City Manager who oversees day-to-day operations combined with a Surrogate Judge role for disputes between Councilmembers and City Manager - these offices are currently vacant due to term limits set by the city's charter amendment approved in 2016. On January 1st, 2017,[1] all property within Old Mission Creek Site #2 had been deeded over to Kalispell from descendants of fur trappers active there during late 1800s & early 1900s—a process that began more than two decades earlier when landowners donated parcels totaling about 137 acres[2] after learning about potential development plans for what would become Old Mission Creek Site #2.
