Since the early 1800s, guns have been a vital part of Montana’s history. Swivels were one of the first firearms to be used in America and are still an important part of gun culture in the state. Gun swivels are often seen as symbols of Montana’s cowboy heritage and many people in the state believe that without guns, certain aspects of their culture would not exist. The history of gun swivels can be traced back to 1876, when they were introduced into America by privateer John Stevens. Stevens was responsible for sunken ships which he used to bring goods overland to California. He also designed a new type of sailing ship which he called the “Stevens-Baldwin gun-swivel”. The weapon consisted of a metal frame with an adjustable handle that could be rotated 360 degrees. The first handguns using swivels were created in 1892 by Capt. Edwin Aldrich while serving as sheriff of Douglas County, Arizona Territory. While working on his Mexico City Rifle, Captain Aldrich realized that if he could find a way to rotate his handgun so that it was pointed square at someone rather than Vari-angle like most handguns then he could shoot them effectively from long distances away. This is how the first revolver using a rotating barrel became known as the “Aldrich rifle” or simply the “Aldrich swivel pistol”. Gunswitches continued to play an important role throughout much of American history until 1911 when legislation changedCalifornia Penal Code § 646 made it illegal for anyone under 21 years old to possess any handgun with a revolving chamber or magazine except police officers and military personnel on duty who had been issued a written permit authorizing such use by law enforcement officials.. As soon as this change took effect, millions upon millions of pistols began being produced without ever having been tested or allowed for public sale – consequently becoming known as “ghost pistols” or Emilio Aguilar models (i). These pistols would go on to form one outcrop on Americangunshipboard industry during World War I (ii). In 1916 Colt Firearms Corporation developed what is now known as the Colt Model 1911 Pistol utilizing patents filed by George Wettin entitled: A Weapon That Can Be Used With Any Magazine And Not Just A Single shot Pistol (iii). This innovation led directly to America's entry into World War II (iv). Although some restrictions still remain on licensed possession and ownership today – principally those placed upon semi-automatic rifles – overall firearms ownership in Montana remains highly popular due largely to its vast natural resources and wide variety of outdoor activities which can require firearms including hunting, fishing, camping and target shooting respectively (v).

Gun swivels were first patented in 1892 by George W. Armstrong and John Swayze. The invention was based on the idea of using an arm’s shoulder to rotate a gun barrel in order to get it oriented correctly for firing. Gun swivels have since been used in a number of different ways, including as part of fire control systems for rifles and pistols, as well as firearms accessories such as scopes and holster fittings. The earliest known examples of gunswivels are from the 1890s, when Armstrong and Swayze developed them based on the technology of carousel revolving guns. Carousel guns were originally designed to be fired with a variety of directions so that each shot would be aimed at a specific target. However, because they were difficult to use properly and required multiple rotations per shot, these early carousel guns were nothing more than simple toys. By the late 1800s, however, advances in manufacturing and engineering had made it possible to create more sophisticated carouselguns that could be fired singlehandedly with just one hand. This new type ofgun was later called a "carousel pivot" or simply "pivot." These carsousels could be rotated rapidly around their axis in any direction so that each shot hit its target evenly regardless of where it originated from. By 1903, this innovative design had become sufficiently advanced that it was able to be used in real life firearm shootings by professionals such as Remington Arms Company president Theodore Roosevelt. In 1916, Mechelin & Co., Ltd., began producing gunswiveles under the name "Gun Swivel". This company was eventually bought by Browning Firearms Corporation in 1954. At Browning Firearms Corporation, handgun manufacturers began selling grenade launchers equipped with gunswives specifically designed for reloading operations; these grenades typicallyfired rounds through quick-change tubes located at either end of the launcher's barrel (known collectively as "grenade Launchers With Gun Swivels"). As grenade launchers became increasingly popular throughout World War II (during which time they also became increasingly effective), Glock Manufacturing filed patent application number 814706 disclosing an improved version of their existing Glock Pistol grip trigger mechanism employing a pistol grip trigger instead of a magwell trigger housing - thus making use of gunswives for military purposes! In 1949 Glock Manufacturing introduced its Model 9 mm semiautomatic pistol featuring this weapon's first manual safety design utilizing triggers mounted on both sides adjacent to recoil springs - thus providingmnsteadforthforthforthforwardforwardfirearm safeties hitherto unavailable on handguns!
