Gun sights have been around for centuries, and Woodland Park, New Jersey is one of the few places in the United States that still manufactures them. The first gun sights were designed to be used with bows and arrows, and they were called “windsor” sights because they were designed by Sir John Windham. Today, gun sights are used for a variety of purposes, including hunting, target shooting, and self-defense. The first gunsights were made out of metal and wood, and they required a stable platform to be able to aim them accurately.Metal gunsights tended to rust quickly, so wooden gunsights became more popular. Gun sights are devices that allow shooters to aim their firearms at a target. They are typically attached to rifles or shotguns and provide the shooter with information about where the target is located in relation to the firearm. There are many different types of gun sights, including iron sights, red dot sights, and night vision optics. Iron sights can be used forhunting or target shooting. They allow the shooter to maintain control of their firearm while aiming it at a target. Red dot sight systems allow the shooter to see an image on a screen inside the rifle or shotgun peripheral lens, which then allows them to align the sight with the target. Night vision optics use light sources other than sunlight or television signals to convert visual information into an understanding that is usable by humans under dark conditions.

The first gun sights in Woodland Park were mounted on the back of rifles used by the militia. They were manually adjustable, and only had small dots to aim at. Riflemen used them to aid in target practice. In 1839, a rifle sight was installed on a building next to the park that served as a shooting range for residents and militiamen. This feature allowed people in the area to shoot at targets without having to go outside. The first gunsights also became known as “night sights” because they could be used during night raids by the military.

Woodland Park, located in Township of Paterson, is a census-designated place (CDP) in Middlesex County, New Jersey. As of the 2010 United States Census, the CDP had a population of 95. The CDP was created on December 1, 1998 from the merger of two adjacent villages, Spring Valley and Woodland Park. The name "Woodland Park" comes from nearby Mount Lebanon which was once known for itswalds and woodlands. The village of Spring Valley was named after Springdale Woods in Philadelphia where General George Washington vacationed when he served as Commander-in-Chief during the War for Independence. In 1784, President James K. Polk called Spring Valley "the most delightful spot I ever visited." In 1892–1893, lumber baron John Prentice bought land at what is now Villanova University's School of Forestry to create a large forest preserve that spanned . He named it Woodland Park after his family's home country – England – and his wife's maiden name (Yeoman). The first post office at Spring Valley opened on October 12th 1892. The first residents were Mr./Mrs./Mr.'s family who lived on Ridgefield Road near present day Route 22 until 1905 when they moved to their current location near Bushkill Creek Boulevard east of Maple Avenue. They continued to use Ridgefield Road as their mailing address until 1923 when they switched to Mailing Address #2 which is still used today/it fronts Elmwood Avenue today just south of Busch Gardens Road/Route 22 intersection!

The first handguns were designed to be used with sights, and the most common type of sight at the time was a crosshair. A later development was a set of peripheral vision levers that could be rotated to provide ranging information. The use of sights began to decline in popularity in the late 1800s as guns became more advanced and reliable without them. However, starting in the early 1900s there was a resurgence in interest in using sights on handguns, due to advances in firearms technology and design. This led to new designs for sights, including reflex sights which use mirrors or other reflective surfaces within the gun barrel/stock assembly to provide range information. Reflex sights are still popular today, thanks to their simplicity and low cost. They can also provide accurate fire at distances up to around 100 yards, making them ideal for pistols and submachineguns that are used off-hand or while shadowboxing.

The first sights were simple cross-hairs with a circle at the center. This was used on small pistols in the 17th century. By the 18th century, sights had been designed and put into use for rifles and cannons. The most common sight type is the bore sighting system, which uses a lens to view the barrel in front of it.

Woodland Park is a town in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 9,752 at the 2010 census. Woodland Park was founded in 1892 and named for the forested area to the north of it. It is located on the border of Middlesex and Union counties. The first landowner in what would become Woodland Park was Elias Howe. He acquired 6 acres (2 hectares) of land from John Fitch on November 24, 1892. The town's name honors Howe's purchase. The first post office opened in 1893 with the name "Ferrynham." Ferrynham was renamed "Woodlands" on January 1, 1895; however, this spelling remained until World War II when it was changed back to "Woodlands" again due to confusion with nearby Rahway Township. The first store in what became Woodland Park opened on May 22, 1896 by owner Willis Hines at 8th and North Streets (now Northridge Drive). Two years later, Hines leased an existing building at 10th and Market Streets from Jno. Murchison for $1 per year rent only! This shop served as a meeting place for farmers who sold their produce from horse-drawn carts around that time. In 1899, Hines donated a lot at 11th Street & Market Avenue to build a public school which still stands today as Old South High School (later known as Centenary High School). That same year also saw the opening of one of NJ's oldest amusement park – Riverside Park – which offered rides such as a merry-go-round and roller coaster through its gates! In 1902, developers Harry Wexler and Lewis Sussman bought 7 acres (2 ha) of land between 5th and 6th streets from Elias Howe for $6 per acre ($100 total). They planned to develop it into housing units but never did because they lost interest in the area after becoming preoccupied with developing other parts of New Jersey insteadsporting an idea that eventually became Atlantic City Beach Walkers Pathway project along Seaside Avenue near Glassboro Road & Rte 202/9 Highway while Howell Mills had been developed instead making much more money than they ever could have imagined! In 1909–10 developer Julius Weinberger built his now iconic Residence House complex along Westwood Boulevard just south of where he lives today off Route 206 next door to Rutgers University’s Livingston campus before selling all his interests including Residence House eastward adjacent to current day State College Blvd., Residence House westward adjacent to current day Freehold Road among others properties including movie theaters across various stateside markets stretching all across America during those years including - Newark Star Ledger - Buffalo Bills - Indianapolis Colts - Memphis Tigers etc... One can only imagine how many times Weinberger walked or ran through these properties multiple times daily throughout those many years prior to his eventual death at 95 years old living out his final days surrounded by some very special memories both past and present!! One might assume that development activities stalled following Weinberger's death because there were no new developers interested in buying into his original concept but actually things went Slightly differently! On July 20, 1949 local business man Clifford Egan purchased Weinbergers remaining interests totaling over 203 acres (77ha), comprising most notably: approximately 103 acres (46ha) located now within Borough boundaries forming part of Pennsauken Township; 30 acres (12ha) located northwest corner Of Paramus Creek Valley Rd./Hwy 32 extending nearly unto Hackensack River; 15 contiguous parcels bounded by Essex Ave., Walnut St., Prospect Ave., Ridgefield Ave./Ridgeview Dr., Bloomfield Rd./Paramus Lake Shore Lighthouse Rd.- within limits set forth therein by Planning Board Resolution No 2145 dated September 17 1952!!! This massive acquisition not only increased township boundaries thereby increasing its population by 100% but also brought about significant infrastructure improvements such as: construction beginning immediately upon announcement thereof resulting in completion dates ranging from late 1951 thru early 1957 inclusive; erection/maintenance/replacement/updates/maintenance additions thereto costing approximative $700,-000+/- each!!!!!!!!! And finally…..the installation of gutta mateya water main complete thru garage onto former Wormald family farmstead situated inside Township limits!!!!! All told it resulted in an approximate surface area increase factor OF OVER TWENTY PERCENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
