After the war, many businesses flourished here including several banks, restaurants, and hotels that continue to operate today; however, most have since closed or died out due to economic decline over time. Today there are only a few small businesses remaining that support local agriculture or serve as cultural attractions such as the Old Hispanic Market on Main Street which is open every day from 9am to 2pm

In 1938, Japan introduced their own version of the Breda rifle using compressed air instead of oiled rifling as the projectile magazine housing and it became known as the Type 98 Rifle. The Air Pistol Association was founded in 1955 and began issuing technical bulletins covering all aspects of pistol shooting including airguns. Auctioneer records show that there were approximately 4 million airguns manufactured in total between 1892 and 1998 according to data collected by Rifles Unlimited Incorporated

The Rio Rancho area in New Mexico is known for its fertile land, out-of-the-way location and cowboy culture. The ranchos of this region were first developed by Spanish colonists in the 18th century. The name Rio Rancho comes from the Río Grande, which forms the border between New Mexico and Texas. The ranchos were originally owned by ranchers who raised herds of cattle and sheep. In the 1870s, a group of American entrepreneurs bought some of these properties, renamed them Rio Rancho County and began to develop it as a cattle country. By 1907, there were over 1,000 ranches in this county. This period was also when many of the early settlers arrived in New Mexico – among them men such as John Wesley Powell or George O’Leary – who helped to create what is now Albuquerque and Roswell.

Rio Rancho was founded in 1847 by José Antonio Navarro and his wife María del Carmen. The town grew quickly, attracting numerous families from the surrounding area. In 1863, the Navarrezes sold their holdings to José de la Torre y Chávez, and Rio Rancho became part of that family's empire. The Torreses were long-time residents of New Mexico, and they played a significant role in its development. They also donated land to establish the University of New Mexico in 1912.
