Glenpool is a small town in Logan County, Oklahoma, United States. It was founded in 1907 by settlers from Illinois. The town had a population of 208 as of the 2010 census. The first ammunition plant in Glenpool was built in 1909 by the Frankford Ammunition Manufacturing Company. The company manufactured artillery rounds, pistol cartridges, and other munitions until it ceased operations in 1961. In 1911, the National Magnesium Corporation purchased Frankford Ammunition Manufacturing Company's assets and began manufacturing ammunition there. From 1951 to 1957, National Magnesium also produced brass ball ammo under the name "Golden Eagle". In 1958, Golden Eagle Ammo products were merged with Remington Arms Company to form Remington-Golden Eagle Ammunition Corporation. From 1959 to 1990, Glenpool Arsenalproduced reloadable 5mm (.308) NATO rounds for the U.S. military under the brand name "Majestic". These rounds are still made today at castle metal foundries throughout the world due to their quality and corrosion resistance. Glenpool is a small town in Oklahoma, located just west of the state capital, OK City. The population was 2,814 at the 2010 census. It is part of the now defunct Tulsa metropolitan area. Glenpool was founded in 1907 as a small community on the edge of what is now Tulsa County by farmers and ranchers who were displaced during the Sooner Wars. The name comes from two Creek words: "glen" meaning 'a clearing' and "pool" meaning 'lake or pond'. The first Glennpool post office opened in 1907. In 1915, it became the first town in Tulsa County to be incorporated. The Glennpool Dam was built here in 1922, providing irrigation water for much of northwestern Oklahoma. In 1940, Glenpool became one of only three towns in Tulsa County to be combined with Jenks into a new municipal district called Jenks-Glennpool-Mockingbirdtown-Pinellasville (now Muskogee). That same year, its citizens voted to rename it Glenpool after Jocko Willingham, founder and first mayor of Tulsa City – an event that helped make him nationally known as one of Tulsans' most influential pioneers. In 1951, Glen Pool High School opened; it would later become one of OKC's largest high schools and serve students from Glenpool through Jenks and Muskogee counties until 1983 when it merged with Cherokee High School in Cherokee Nation to form Muskogee Community Schools District No. 1 (MCSD1). The town's economy has always been based on agriculture; however, over time some other businesses have emerged such as gas stations and convenience stores. These days there are also several restaurants and cafes within walking distance of the downtown core where locals can enjoy local cuisine while surrounded by products made locally or traded internationally

Glenpool is a small town in the U.S. state of Oklahoma, located on the east bank of the Arkansas River. It was founded in 1907 by John A. Glenpool and his wife, Anna Crouse, as a result of their land donation to the town from their father, James A. Glenpool. The Glenpool-Emmons School District is headquartered in town and also includes portions of neighboring towns such as Garnet City and Ponca City. Glenpool is named for John A. Glenpool, who donated the land that became its founding location on the east bank of the Arkansas River. In 1907, John A.'s brother-in-law, Charles Sowers Ellis, donated 4 acres (1 hectare) to make up part of what would become Glenpool; this parcel was also given to Anna Crouse's husband Bill Emmons soon after they married in 1906. The first home in Glenpool was built on this property by Mrs. Emmons and her husband Bill; it was called "The Meadows". In 1916, when Glenn Pool Elementary school opened its doors for students in grades kindergarten through eighth grade, Mrs. Emmons donated 800 square feet (71 square meters) of land adjacent to her home for use as one classroom; this teacher's room served as the school's gymnasium until 1954 when a new building was erected onsite which still serves as today's Glenn Pool Elementary School! In 1927, local rancher Wm Waddell bought 8 acres (3 hectares) west of town from Mr. Ellis for $2 per acre (0.8 per kilometer). This land served as grazing ground for some time before becoming an agricultural district known today as "Waddell County". On November 1st 1928 President Herbert Hoover delivered a speech at Waddell County Fairgrounds which mentioned "the acquisition by Mr." Waddell" and announced that he had made a gift to county officials totaling $5 million dollars! This donation not only helped improve agriculture but also stimulated economic development within Gopland Township - now part of present day Ponca City - which bordered on Waddell County back then!Following President Hoover's speech there were celebrations throughout Gopland Township with pie baking contests being held at various businesses while vendors set up shop selling refreshments; these festivities continued into December 28th 1928 when Judge Jens Hansen hosted a gala celebration honoring all those who contributed towards making Glendrook an even more thriving community! On January 3rd 1929 another large donation arrived from Mr Edward Sellers - owner/ operator of Sellers Ford & Machine Company - who offered 2 miles² (.984 kilometers²) northeast corner lot #1052 just north of town limits for use as a high school football field!!!!!!!!!!! Prior to this offer there had been discussion amongst area farmers about purchasing or donating additional lands adjoining High School so that eventually both buildings could be constructed!!!!!!!!!!!Today lies just south side alley leading off US Highway 36 between old Village Green Shopping Center & IS 360 !!!!!!!!! An entrance will soon be available thru old village green center
Glenpool was a small town in Oklahoma until the early 1960s when it became the site of one of the most notorious murders in United States history. On December 8, 1961, three men, including John Wayne Gacy and his brother Joseph, brutally murdered thirteen-year-old Glenpool girl Joanne Breslin while she was walking to her grandmother's house. Breslin's murder remains unsolved to this day.
