The first Postmaster general for Muskogee County served from 1907 to 1912 when David Witherspoon took over but resigned due to illness before his term could expire. According to the 2010 census, Glenpool has a total population of 1,898 people living within its borders: male (1,766) and female (1,644). Of those residents age 25 or older there were 802 (53%) males and 624 (47%) females; however this varies somewhat with race as white/non-Hispanic males make up 58% of all male residents while black/African American makes up 12%. Hispanic or Latino adults make up 4% of all residents while Asians make up 2%. In 1907, the pool family opened their second store on west side of the town after spending $10 to buy land from J.D. Smith for $60 per acre (2 hectares). The Store operated until 1935 when it burned down due to a lightning strike. In 1936, brothers Glennpool and Harry pooled money together to build a new store on east side of town which they named "The Glenpool Shopping Center". This center continued to be open until it closed in 1987 due to lack of business opportunities during the late 1980s recession. Today's GlenPool is located off US-67 just south of its original border with OKLAHOMA CITY proper which started out as part of GLENPOOL COUNTY IN 1912
