On February 15, 1927, the mainstem of US-61 (now I-40) replaced an older alignment that ran northerly from Shawnee to northwest of Glenpool; this new route made it possible for people living near Glendenning to approach the town from three directions simultaneously instead of having to go around it. In 1957, $1 million was raised through a local sales tax drive to build what is now Glenpool High School; this project also included construction of a Connector Road between nearby towns which facilitated easy access by residents to their local shopping malls without having to leave their homes

Today, Glenpool is one of Stephens County's most vibrant communities with active economic development opportunities stemming from its proximity to energy production activities as well as its strong social fabric which features close-knit family groups and supportive individualism.
