The Mission House still stands and serves as a museum today. In 1831, George Washington Carver settled here with his family after moving from Savannah, Georgia. Carver donated land to the town and its first store opened in 1834. Today there are four churches: Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church (founded 1911), St John Baptist Episcopal Church (1837), First Presbyterian Church (1844) and Methodist church (1906). The economy of Goose Creek has been based largely on agriculture since it began operations as a settlement. Many products such as cheese, bacon, soybeans, cottonseed oil and cornmeal are produced here today including some of the most popular items in Spartanburg County such as Goose Creek Coffee Company coffee beans and goose creek pie from Mrs. Gail Smith’s bakery located just east of town off US 278/390 on Highway 209A which offers many flavors like apple cinnamon or pumpkin spice with unique ingredients like pumpkin puree or applesauce made without sugar or any artificial additives Today much of the production takes place within about one mile radius outside of town limits where processing plants produce everything from cornmeal to soybeans to fresh fruits such as apples

Goose Creek is a town in Richland County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 1,836 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Greenville–Spartanburg Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first white settlers in what would become Goose Creek were Colonel John Chilton and his family who arrived from North Carolina in 1775. Colonel Chilton named his new settlement after his home state of Georgia which he had seen while on military service as a colonel in that state. The early pioneer days were difficult because of the lack of water and transportation options available to them. However, with time and investment by the community's founders, things began to change for the better. By 1800, Goose Creek had a tannery, two stores and six families living there. In 1824, a post office was established at Goose Creek under the name "Fayetteville". In 1906, land north of town was donated to be developed into an agricultural area known as "Floyd-Grant Fields", which still exists today as part of Goosecreek Farms Incorporated located off US Highway 11 near junction with US Highway 278 about 9 miles west of town center on Floyd Grant Road (SR 523). This agricultural area extended from present day Duckworth Road eastward to just south of I-95 exit 100A just east of historic Valley Forge Plantation until it met what is now SR 523 south of town limits; most likely due to flooding during Hurricane Andrew in 1992 which caused extensive damage along Duckworth Road between Floyd Grant Farm and I-95 exit 100A turning it into one long NF 4 road today with few remnants remaining from original Agricultural Land donations made over many years by many individuals including myself back then! One interesting aspect about this early history is that not only did people come from all around America but also various parts of Europe via boat or train transporting goods such as lumber and slaves directly heretofore unaccessible due to distance or more expensive shipping costs elsewhere! One can only imagine how beautiful our towns must have been when they were founded back then? Today we enjoy some wonderful recreational opportunities such as hiking/biking/swimming/fishing right on our doorstep including world famous Rocky Top NRA range located right outside our city limits! As stated earlier throughout this paper we are continuing onto an interesting journey that begins way back when especially given everything we have today technology has helped make some amazing updates/ changes etc., making old experiences even more rewarding!

In 1824, a group of men named Webster and his band went out into the woods to find land for themselves. They found some trees that had been cut down, so they decided to make their home there. The first house that was built in Goose Creek was called the White House. It was built by John Webster and his family. The Websters kept this house for many years until it burned down in 1851. After the White House burnt down, another group of men named Cullum bought it and moved into it. These men renamed it the Cullum House after them. This house lasted until 1906 when it burned down again. The next house that was built in Goose Creek was called the Millcreek House. It was built by James Millcreek and his family. This house lasted until 1951 when it also burned down.* *After the Millcreek House burnt down, another group of men named Duncan bought it and moved into it.* *This house lasted until 1984 when it also burnt down* *The next houses that were built in Goose creek were called the McKenzie Houses.* *They were built by John McKenzie* *This house lasted until 1977 when it also burnt Down* *.
