In Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, the history of hard gun cases is long and complicated. The town was founded in 1795 by General Nathanael Greene and his family. After the American Revolution, a militia was formed to protect the town and its citizens. The militia consisted of both white men and black men. In addition, local churches also began providing armed guards for their members during services (a practice that continued until after World War II). Finally, throughout most of this period there was an constant battle going on between police officers and criminals who tried to break into homes or businesses using force or threats of violence. He quickly assembled his Armed Forces including two cannons along side 10 soldiers loyal unto him...and went into action..against an Army nearly 10 times larger than his own! And boy did he fight! Hardly any civilians got hurt thanks largely To His Militia's adherence To Firearms Laws which kept them safe FROM HARM OR ATTACKENESS!! Nowadays if you hear about anything happening near MtPleasant please don't go anywhere fearing For Your Lives...But back then It WAS different!!! That said though.....on rare occasions things DID happen......Now THAT'S A HARD GUN CASE!!

The townsite was first settled in 1800 by English settlers who named it "Mount Pleasant" after their home town of Milton in England. Mount Pleasant grew quickly during its early years as a textile village and became one of the most populous towns in Spartanburg County by 1830. In 1851, when South Carolina became a state, Mount Pleasant lost its status as an agricultural center and rapidly declined from its heyday until it reached its current population size in 1950. During World War II, Mount Pleasant played an important role as a munitions plant for nearby Laurens and Griggs. In 1945, however, Mountpleasant's economic prosperity ended when Allied forces destroyed much of the local mills that had been built during World War II. Since then, mountaintop mining has become less common and most residents rely on agriculture or other forms of employment to support their families today.

Mount Pleasant is known for its historic courthouse and the Mount Pleasant Railroad Museum. Classes began September 1st that year under teacher John Aiken with 10 students in attendance including 4 girls attendinginity school while their mothers nursed children at home; this program continued until 1830 when Mrs Aiken resigned due to health concerns about her son teaching such an exposeng lettering class inside her home! In 1830–31, Rev Sutherlin commenced classes “in parlor” utilizing his library which he had constructed near his house on present day Main Street where he remained until his death in 1840; this program continued until 1865 when classes were transferred out into Mr Ransom’s barn on present day Union Avenue (later renamed Greenville Avenue). From 1828-1839 there were three stores operating within Mt Pocotaligo: Brown & Dixon’s Store (now Business Park Place), Cofer & Price’s Store (now Patton Avenue), and Snively & Hargrave’s Store (now Taylor Boulevard). All three stores closed by 1840 because of economic conditions combined with difficulty transporting goods overland through Indian territory during the timespan between Seminole Wars/American Civil War/ Reconstruction period; however, one store reopened as Jno Wigglesworth Hardware starting February 11th 1861 due to opening of Wigglesworth Bridge across Duck River just east of present day downtown Mt Pocotaligo! After years of effort by residents Lionel Pugh Sr., Jr., Solomon Hardeman, Hiram Youngblood among others - culminating with establishment byGovernor Pickens May 9th 1899 - Mt Pocotaligo Landing became official incorporated community within South Carolina January 6th 1901 thru Act No 178 approved by Special Session Legislature convened at Capitol Building Columbia[sic] – becoming nearly two hundred years old today! In 1902-1903 Robert Mclntyre operated successful grocery store located on current site south sideof Blvd tablet road opposite bankRIchard High School [sic] – becoming well known throughout entire state for fresh produce Indoors fresh bread outside also !!!!! Also early 1900’s saw largerial crop failures caused droughts throughout whole valley resulting many people leaving for greener pastures elsewhere……….Today most everyone knows about our history here atMountPleasantSC
