Gun barrels have a long and varied history in Pierre, South Dakota. The first guns that were made here were rifle barrels. These early shooters would tie a piece of bark around the top of their barrel to keep it from swinging around while they shot. This gave way to more complicated designs in the 18th century when people began using iron hoops instead of Wooden Posts and Twigs for Barrels. By the 19th century, Barrel Construction had progressed sufficiently that Cannon Makers began using Rolled Iron Barrels for their cannons. This progress was due in large part to advances in Casting Technology which allowed Forges to produce bigger, stronger bars that could handle greater loads without breaking. The rolling process also allowed Forges to create a variety of shapes and sizes for Barrels which ultimately led to the development of Gun Bores today!

In 1934, New York City Mayor Fiorello La Guardia passed a law that made it illegal for citizens to Carry any Pistol or Shotgun without proper permits from city officials. This law paved way for what is now known as New York City prohibitionism – laws prohibiting possession and use of handguns by non-citizens within city limits

Pierre was founded by Pierre and the Comanche Indians in 1867. The town grew rapidly and soon had a population of over 1,500 people. In 1897, the town incorporated as a city. In 1907, Pierre became the capital of South Dakota.
