Shooting Target Holders

Pierre, South Dakota is known for its Unique Shooting Range. The range is home to two different types of targets: rifle and shotgun target holders. Rifle target holders are made from heavy metal and have a hole in the middle that allows shooters to place their rounds through it with ease. Shotgun target holders are made from plastic and have a handle at one end that shooters can hold onto to help aim the shot. The history of shooting target holders begins with Pierre Gun Club members shooting out an opening on the property in 1907. The club used this area as a firing ground for shotguns until 1935 when they switched to rifles because of the higher recoil caused by the live rounds being fired offsite. From 1935-1948, handguns were also allowed on the range, however, shotguns were still allowed due to their popularity among club members. In 1948, handguns became forbidden again and rifle target holders were born! Rifle Target Holder ownership has been passed down from generation to generation ever since! Today, there are over fifty different model NRA licensed Rifle Target Holders available for purchase or lease online or at various shooting ranges all across America!
