The project was completed two years later but didn't really take off until 2003 when it became known as "The Village". Today's shopping center features over 50 retailers including Macy's Department Store (now Sears), JCPenney/Gordons (now Kohl's), Starbucks Coffee & Tea®, AMC Theaters (), Belk Outlet () and TJ Maxx (). In recent years much discussion has centered around the potential redevelopment or abandonment of adjacent properties which border Interstate 55 between Collierville-Mountain View Township to the south and Parkland Township to the north; these parcels are currently vacant land with no plans for development or occupancy despite housing prices increasing significantly nearby over recent years due to increased demand from commuters flowing into Memphis through I-555 eastbound lanesSQL). There have been calls for redeveloping or demolishing these properties while also working on plans to create new employment opportunities within colliervilie
