Carrollton is a city in Midland County, Texas, United States. The population was 107 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. The first settler in Carrollton was James Hennard, who named it after his home state of New York. Hennard moved to the area in 1853 and established a tavern on what is now Elm Street. The town site was surveyed and platted by Elisha Cooke in 1856, but no buildings were erected until 1865 when J.C. McDowell built the first schoolhouse on present day Elm Street. In 1860, John Bigham purchased land north of present day Elm Street from Ebenezer Edwards for $2,500 and started developing what would become Carrollton as a farming community with extensive stockaded gardens around his new home which he called "Bigham's Bluff". By 1870 Carrollton had 3 stores, 1 doctor, 2 post office clerks and about 100 residents; however during that time only one house remained standing in what is now downtown Carrollton due to fire suppression measures put into effect following an early morning railcar derailment near here that year. Downtown Carrollton began to grow rapidly during the 1870s as merchants reached out to find new areas to settle because of railroad construction nearby which created many new jobs opportunities for people in this fledgling city limits community including cotton plantations just east of town along Buffalo Bayou (later renamed Arlington Avenue). In 1881 members of the Baylor family donated land south of ElmStreet for incorporation as a municipality with streets named Baylor Drive and Garland Drive following their ranch manager James Winton who donated these much-needed thoroughfares during his tenure as mayor from 1886-1892 despite having no knowledge about municipal government or local taxation! A post office operated under charter from 1888 until 1894 when it became known as McKinney & Company Post Office due to combo mail service being offered between Dallas/ Fort Worth and McKinney & Company’s corporate headquarters located adjacent today on Garnett Lane! The population peaked at 150 by 1910 but decreased gradually over ensuing decades due primarily to residential development outside of town while agricultural production withered away although some small businesses still flourished through the late 20th century including several truck stop convenience stores currently located east off I-635 across from Renaissance Learning Center! Although Downtown Carrollton has experienced relatively recent revitalization throughout last decade starting with establishment of numerous commercial properties along North Lamar Boulevard within blocks perimeter since 2006 most notably including multiple high end restaurants such as Goulet’s French Laundry + Cafe Gourmet Barbeque - formerly called Steak ‘n Shake - recently reopened after significant renovation complete inside current retail building providing excellent food options for both locals and visitors alike; increasing access via limited number OF major arterial expressways close enough transport employees directly into larger metros without need for long commutes thru out core citylimits suburbsmany residents continue working within local comprehensive services Delivery Area providing various types professional job training available upon request1) streetAddress: N/A

Carrollton, Texas is a town in Tarrant County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,826 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Fort Worth-Arlington metropolitan area. The town began as a small settlement on the eastern edge of what is now Fort Worth and was named for Colonel James A. Carroll, who served as an aide to General Sam Houston during the Mexican-American War. In 1876, Charles Goodyear established his famous rubber plantation in what is now Carrollton and set about developing it into one of America's largest Rubber plantations. Goodyear would later become one ofFort Worth' most important citizens and philanthropists. The first post office in Carrollton was established in 1881; it was renamed Fort Worth in 1886 after President George Washington Carver dedicated it at a ceremony attended by both Goodyear and Houston. In 1907, Alice Ray Needham founded Lady Day School which became one of Americas most successful private schools until its closure in 2000. In 1912, building began on what would become Arlington Stadium which hosted both the Dallas Cowboys (now the Dallas Texans) and Baylor Bears football games before being replaced by current US Airways Center in 2006. During World War II much of downtown Fort Worth were destroyed by fire but most notably Independence Hall where over 3 million people from all over America participated in patriotic rallies during that time period are still standing today including exhibits celebrating that occasion
