McKinney's unique geography has been its main attraction since its incorporation as a town – rolling hills that lead down to downtownDallas (known today as "the heart of Dallas"), small rivers running through the community which give it natural water supplies for irrigation purposes and plenty of open space for farming; schools that continue to be nationally recognized; an Afro-Latino community that persists despite significant discrimination throughout much of North America; multiple shopping malls including two within walking distance of each other – one anchored by Sears & Roebuck while the other anchors Macy's & JCPenneys stores; three major airports: Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport serving DFW Airport employees en route to/from homebound flights across Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DAL), Tyler/Arlington County Memorial Airport serving nearby Garland Regional Airport passengers en route to various destinations outside DFW airport boundaries but inside Republic Airlines' passenger terminal building, plus numerous smaller airports served by charter or air taxi services; several large entertainment districts - including Southpark Dr., Downtown Dallas (which includes State Fair Park), Midtown Dallas (including Adair Avenue) - along with dozens more smaller districts scattered throughout downtownDallas alone

Mckinney is a small town in Dallas County, Texas, United States. The population was 21,748 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. The name "Mckinney" derived from an early settler's nickname of "The Meadows." McKinney was founded by James Mckinney on November 2, 1839 as a farming community located along the Trinity River near modern day McKinney and Woodrow Wilson Roads. In 1851, McKinney became home to the first public school in Dallas County and also began hosting fairs and other activities that would later be known as county fairs. In 1865, McKinney experienced its first tornado when a severe storm caused heavy damage to homes and businesses in the town center. By 1870, McKinNEY had become one of the most prosperous towns inDallas County with over 100 businesses and 3 churches. However, due to political disagreements between ranching interests and banks that controlled land access for settlers withinDallas County, McKinney declined to incorporation into Dallas County proper until 1888. By 1899, McKinney had grown sufficiently large enough to support its own post office (not yet open) as well as two stores and three churches. On October 7th of that year local rancher John Waco brought his horseback ride through town during which he visited both stores before returning home across White Oak Bayou on his horse Brazos de Tamaulipas - making Mckinney one of only two places in Texas where such an event occurred at that time. On December 5th McKinney voted 1-1 against annexation into Arlington Heights but this vote did not affect their status withinDallas COUNTY or their right to hold elections themselves without being requested by Arlington Heights officials. In 1907 local developer Hines Jacobs acquired 640 acres (248 hectares) east of downtown McKinney for $27 per acre after seeing it advertised in an issue of The Prairie Farmer magazine. With this new land purchase came clout within city hall where Jacobs soon became influential in developing much of East Dallas including what is now Downtown Dallas! Jacobs continued purchasing land throughout HISPANICATED DMKE until1920 when he sold all his holdings except for 10 acres (4 hectares) northeast of downtown McKinNEY – this property remains today undeveloped adjacent to IHOP!. In 1930 Henderson Land Co., Ltd., merged with several other companies creating HHKB Development Company which purchased 624 acres (241 hectares) northwest of downtown DALLAS from Danish American Oil Corporation forming ECHLUSIAN AVE! This parcel has since been developed into many high rise residential buildings including One State Bank Tower & Metro Center Tower! From 1934 until 1966 it housed US Steel Corporation’s plant #2 which produced trucks & buses for North American Motors Corporation’s plants located throughout Mexico City prior to Mexican nationalhood! In 1986 Echlusian Ave was renamed Pembina Way following a donation from businessman Don Pembina who desired no connection with steel industry outside TX! Today much redevelopment continues taking place around old US Steel Plant site directly west/southwest of IHOP
Mckinney, Texas is a town in Johnson County, Texas, United States. The population was 4,836 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Johnson County. The town was founded about 1837 by Captain James A. McKinney and his wife Sarah as a small cabin settlement on the east bank of the Trinity River. At that time it was part of what is now Wichita County. The first settler in McKinney was George Hines who arrived in 1838 from Alabama with his family and set up a trading post near present day McKinney Creek. In 1845, John Fenton organized a company to build an overland route from Fort Worth to San Antonio and named it the Santa Fe Railway Company after Colonel James Fenton (1821-1895), one of its promoters. In 1863, when sections of the rail line were sold off for more money, McKinney got its own railway station which served as the terminus for all rail traffic until 1978 when Interstate 20 bypassed McKinney and built directly through it. McKinney had two grain elevators built by J M McConnell & Son in 1895-96; these were later replaced by three larger elevators but remain standing today as part of downtown McKinney's infrastructure including blocks 6-8 on Main Street between First Avenue South and Second Avenue North (now home to several businesses). The Kellogg Elevator Company also operated an elevator plant here during this time although their equipment has been removed or moved elsewhere within downtown McKinney since then. The community experienced some growth during World War II due to USAAF airfield construction nearby; however much of that activity ended prior to hostilities began in Europe in September 1939. After the war other development occurred such as the erection of several stores/cafes/bars along Main Street between First Avenue South and Second Avenue North before current efforts commenced to revive downtown McKinNEY following Hurricane Katrina's landfall on August 29th 2005 which destroyed most businesses/buildings within Downtown area causing significant demolition throughout most portions of town including Blocks 6-8 on Main Street between First Ave South and Second Ave North (now home to several businesses) .
