Kenmore, Washington is a town in Thurston County,Washington, United States. The population was 2,693 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle metropolitan area and the larger Puget Sound region. The first Europeans to visit what is now Kenmore were fur traders in 1821 when they passed through on their way to Fort Selkirk. A post office was established here in 1836; it was renamed Kenmore in 1855 after General John C. Kenmore, who had also helped found the town. The post office closed in 1893. The first settlers arrived from England in stages over a period of several years starting around 1853-1854 and lasting until about 1861 when many were killed by Indians during the Yakama War which followed the US invasion of Oregon (the Whitman Expedition). Most of these English men founded small farms or ranched for a time before moving on and joining other pioneers as they began to arrive from Russia, Canada and Minnesota.. In 1865 an act of Congress authorized President Abraham Lincoln to buy all public land within ten miles of Olympia, Washington for $5 per acre ($160 million today). This became known as "Lincoln Land". In 1870–71 local farmers formed a constitutional board to manage this land which created Kenmore Township with a population of 450 residents and 7 lots valued at $5 each. The first store opened here on Main Street in 1895 named simply "Kenmore." By 1900 there were twenty stores scattered throughout the township with a payroll totaling $50,000; four banks operated here: First National Bank (founded 1898), National City Bank (founded 1901), Pierce & Cook bank (founded 1907)and Western Union bank (founded 1911). In 1916 an act authorizing construction of Union Dam resulted in creation of Lake Wenatchee adjacent to present day Kenmore; this dam provided power for irrigation water needs for much of central Washinton while also creating jobs building turbines and generating steam for generators ashore at Griggs Island Light House which still stands today! After World War I many people left rural society behind to enter into new economic opportunities such as truck driving or shipping etc., leaving behind their homes behind along with memories associated with those times including Christmas trees outside front doors!. Interstate 5 replaced wagon trails as the primary passage across country so most transportation stopped here making it difficult or impossible for some residents either to leave or stay! farming continued even though families lost access to important water resources leading some people to emigrate especially during WWII when Boeing built its largest facility right next door! A fire destroyed most business buildings November 23rd 1947 destroying twenty one outbuildings included two churches that sat on village square since before Indian Removal Act made them property OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON not locals anymore! Andres Paez rebuilt everything from start but died young due heart attack only weeks later :( . All those losses make up one big loss for us !!

Clarence Aiken Kenmore was born in 1911 to John W., Jr., who had immigrated to Washington state with his parents in 1853 and began logging on Mount Rainier National Park's Sawtooth Mountains campaign range. After working his way up through the company ranks he succeeded his father as President and CEO of Microsoft in 1993 - an event which popularized artificial intelligence within the tech giant’s culture across North America and around the world
In 1881, a group of farmers in Kenmore founded the Methodist Episcopal Zion Church. The church moved to its current location in 1907 and has been there ever since.
