The GMSA provided a forum for people interested in learning about firearms issues and continued publishing newspapers such as The Rifleman and Pistol Review until 1978 when it merged with another firearm magazine organization, American Arms Congress Inc., effective February 1st, 1979. Washougal's long history with gun magazines can be traced back to at least 1892 when a group of gentlemen decided they needed a place where they could store their firearms safely while away from home on business trips or vacations. This early effort proved successful enough that they decided to rename themselves 'The Gun Club Of Washougal' after their original location on Federal Street just north of Delridge Park Boulevard (now part of University Drive). With so many members spread out among numerous locations throughout Puget Sound area, it wasn't long before this club had become very popular among locals as well as visitors looking for access to quality weaponry without havingto leave their home town or city center! As time went on however, there were inevitable disagreements between these various organizations over how bestto serve their membership base - eventually leading to unification under one banner three years later when GMSOA merged with American Arms Congress Inc., better known simply as 'American Arms'. This merger resulted in an increase in both size and scope - now boasting more than 150 member clubs across North America including chapters located throughout Washougalland California coastlines! Over time there have also been expansions into new markets such as Europe (UK), South Africa (South Africa), Australia (& New Zealand) along with several international chapters set up specifically within Canada & Mexico! Additionally GMSA has taken partyrice initiatives such as contributions towards firearm safety research projects focused on improving public health & reducing accidental shootings; providing financial assistance towards muzzleloading shotguns restoration/repair; hosting jams & meets series annually showcasing top caliber rifles available from our member clubs worldwide; sponsorship opportunities featuring local businesses at local events; providing technical support during regular meetups/jams while still maintaining high standards for professionalism within our membership...the list goes on & on! The years between 1910 and 1920 were difficult for many aspects of Washougal’s economy; however, through hard work and innovation local businesses thrived. In 1970, when the Interstate 5 bridge was built across the Snake River,washinghougalfoundation lost much of its commercial activity due to commuting difficulties from nearby cities such as Tacoma or Seattle. However, during this time there also emerged new opportunities for business growth as traffic congestion decreased on I-5 south of town This caused new businesses to open up north of town including a Wendy’s restaurant which opened in 1987 that remains one of Washougalland’s most popular tourist attractions today Today's economy is driven by services such as real estate brokerage and home buying/selling; agriculture; retail trade (heavy with Federal Way); fishing; tourism; manufacturing (mainly related to construction materials) As one of largest agricultural communities in Northwest America according to 2005 Census data Washougalland has done well since experiencing high commodity prices for commodities like hay and wheat while struggling against competition from neighboring farmers outside our borders

Washougal is a town in Douglas County, Washington, United States. The population was 1,976 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Wenatchee–East Wenatchee metropolitan area. The name Washougal comes from the Chinook word "washi" meaning "to clean." Washougal was first settled by pioneers in 1855 and became a town in 1871. The history of Washougal stretches back to 1855 when pioneer Alexander Shields and his son-in-law George Sell began farming land east of present-day Washougal on the White River. They named their farm washiuckle or "wash". In 1865, they decided to move their farm westward to what is nowDouglas County because they were worried about being evicted from their previous land by Indians who had taken it over during the Oregon Trail's journey westward. They named their new home Harmony Township after the local Harmony Methodist Church which stood on what is now Main Street in downtown Washougall. In 1871, Washougall was incorporated as a town with a population of 557 people. At that time, it was one of three towns in Douglas County that did not yet have railroad service and relied instead on wagon trains ferrying goods between Wenatchee and East Wenatchee for transportation. In 1893, the city of Spokane built its first train depot within walking distance of downtown and started using this rail line for transporting goods to and from nearby businesses such as lumberyards and flour mills. By 1915, there were also several small shops located around downtown that supplied goods to these larger businesses along with a few houses used by residents for storage purposes until railway lines could be built through town proper and into neighboring villages such as Spokane Falls or Kentfield.
