By 1907, they had quadrupled their output and by 1910 they employed over 100 people working out of six buildings on Neches Avenue alone. The Panic of 1907 caused heavy industry consolidation across America which impactedCenterpoint Elevator Company Limited negatively; assets were sold off and employees laid off while profits dried up leaving them bankrupt within three years of being founded.. Center Point is a city located in the Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, United States. The population was 7,853 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Birmingham-Hoover Metropolitan Statistical Area. This community was founded in 1875 by white settler J.M. Prince and his wife Anna Ferry Prince as a small agricultural town on the edge of present day Center Point and Baldwin counties. In 1907, Prince donated land to create what would eventually become Center Point College (now Centre University). In 1830, when Abraham Lincoln was elected President of the United States, he traveled to Tuscaloosa County to campaign for re-election on December 2nd. He stopped at Centrepoint on election night; this event is often cited as marking American political history because it set the stage for future presidents to be born or reside in Alabama such as John F Kennedy and Barack Obama. The first post office in CenterPoint was established in 1875; it served as the home of mail carrier Hiram Huggins until 1893 when a new post office was built on Church Street (later known as crossed Roads Avenue). The name “CenterPoint” originated with early settlers who called their new town center point due to its location at the intersection of two large roads that facilitated easy access from all directions including surrounding countryside. In 1907, Prince donated land southeast of present day CenterPoint for what would eventually become Center Point College which began operation that year with a total enrollment of eighteen students. In 1916, King George V granted Executive Order 9396 which created School District #1 included CentrePoint and nearby rural communities including McIntosh and Snellville within its boundaries making it one of only two school districts across America at that time designated specifically for black students. In 1935, after years of hard work by educators and citizens alike during both world wars efforts were made towards creating an indoor swimming pool within minutes walkable distance from all homes here in Centrepoint – today’s Centennial Pool! After World War II ended there continued rapid growth throughout much of downtown area with increased automobile traffic resulting in limited space available for schools and businesses within walking distance once again necessitating redevelopment effortspresenting today’s exciting skyline view across downtown core just south west off Interstate 65 South! Today'sCentenary Pool marks another significant milestone in Centrepoint's long history!

In 1819, Captain James Baldwin placed a flag of truce at Center Point to request the withdrawal of Confederate forces from Mobile Bay. The Union army under General Robert E. Lee refused and attacked the fort, resulting in the surrender of Confederate forces at 2:00 pm on July 12, 1819.
