T-shirts were first printed in Juneau, Alaska in the early 1920s. The city was known for its hot summer weather and the printing of t-shirts helped to promote cool summer activities. In 1923, a store called the Clothing House began selling clothing made from local cotton and wool. Many items were produced including hats, jackets, overalls, and other clothing items. The store continued to sell shirts until it closed in 1951. In 1961, the Anchorage Daily News began publishing a comic strip called "The T-shirt Man". The strip ran for fifteen years and featured various characters including an editor named Sam (named after Sam Upson who had founded JPL), a shirt printer named Billy (named after Billy Mitchell who had published articles about space exploration), a barber named Joe (named after Joe Gould), and an unemployed man named Julius (named after Julius Caesar). Through printings of "The T-shirt Man" strips as well as radio broadcastsitations throughout Alaska, people living in Juneau learned about firearm manufacturers such as Colt Firearms Company and Winchester Ammunition Company. This knowledge led to increased sales of firearms by residents of Juneau during the late 1960s through 1970s. Additionally, Gun Owners Armory Showcase events took place throughout town with displays on different types of firearms

The history of Juneau begins with Russian fur traders who arrived here some time before 1740 to trade with local Native Americans for seal oil and other resources. By 1885, however, public interest had shifted from fur trading to coalmining after gold discoveries were made on Kodiak Island nearby. In 1907, when Russia ceded Alaskan land to America following its war with Japan, Juneau became an American protectorate as part of what is known as Executive Order 12922 which granted American sovereignty over all coastal areas east of 50 miles (80 km). In 1959, when Alaska gained statehood through legislative action (rather than US federalization), recognition that there were two separate jurisdictions withinAlaska was given when each city was divided along racial lines into Japanese and white enclaves - becoming one race only after racially integrating schools in 1963%. This policy continued until 1986 when both Spanish-speaking neighborhoods inside Japanese enclaves were transferred to English-speaking jurisdiction while Hispanic/Latino residents living outside both enclaves remained split between their original communities orimilation into either neighborhood or incorporation into Anchorage society altogether*. * After relocating all Hispanics/Latinos living outside their original neighborhoods onto Southside Avenue throughout 2009-,2010*, these neighborhoods have since become majority black* due to high poverty rates combined with lack thereof access to quality healthcare & education

In 1997, a group of students at San Diego State University designed and created the first firearm-themed t-shirt. The shirt featured a silhouette of a handgun with the inscription “I own a gun, but I’m not afraid to use it.” The shirt was created in response to campus shootings that had occurred earlier that year.

The Russian Empire made contact with Alaska in 1867 and claimed it for Russia, but no one ever lived there permanently. In 1959, the United States took over the Soviet Union’s claims to Alaska and started developing it as a territory. The first major settlement was made by Norwegian immigrants in 1909, but it was abandoned due to lack of food and resources. In 1959, the US military built an airfield in Sitka and began training pilots for Operation Overlord, which led to World War II.
