Gun lubrication history in Juneau, Alaska began with the first firearms in the area in 1884. The first rifles were made of brass and needed to be oiled to keep them functioning. By 1907, there were several gunsmiths in town who did oiling for businesses and hunters. In 1911, a company was founded by two local men, George L. Sibley and Milo W. Hargrave, that made bullets and other products from lead arsenate. Ammunition sales increased as the outbreak of World War I heightened concerns about munitions production in the country. From 1916 to 1918, lubricants were produced at a plant on Second Street west of downtown by Harry Aiken & Sons Limited; this facility was eventually destroyed during the war. In 1919, Gun Oil Company was organized with Eben Davenport as president and Harry Aiken as vice president; this company continued making lubricants up until 1951 when it merged with Amoco Corporation to form Amoco-Ammo Incorporated (later known as ExxonMobil). The early guns used Remington 8-inch bit round cases which required high levels of grease to function properly due to their incredibly delicate construction - even today some rifles still require special care when not being used because of this reason! The first handguns also used Remington 8-inch bit rounds which required high levels of oil because they had smaller diameter case heads than other calibers such as .22 LR or 9 mm Parabellum pistols which meant less grease was necessary for these firearms - however these handguns also became more difficult to maintain over time due to their small size and delicate construction caused by their round case head shape rather than their common .22LR or 9 mm Parabellum counterparts' tapered head shape which allowed for easier cleaning/servicing overall! By 1927 GUN OIL COMPANY INC had extended its product line into both handgun lubes (which included both rifle lube products) AND shotgun oils (as well as Berger Bullets cartridges). This move signaled GUN OIL COMPANY's intent on becoming an industry leader in firearm lubricants specifically within the shotgun market! Shotguns are one thing that have always been notoriously difficult to clean/service due To their extremely dirty nature but through their acquisition of Berger Bullets they soon solved this problem once again! In 1951 GUN OIL COMPANYINC merged with Amoco Corporation forming "ExxonMobil" who continues making petroleum based lubricants today!

In 1908–1909, James Wickersham served as Commissioner for Fisheries and Game for Juneau County and helped create what are now some of America's most important fisheries resources—the Kuupa Heahtaa National Wildlife Refuge was established in 1909 and still manages more than $1 million worth of fish per year statewide; during World War II Japanese military forces used Area 51 near Juneau as their main basecamp for operations around North America; during 1990s uprisings against then-Governor Sarah Palin (R), debris from an aborted oil pipeline project ended up scattered throughout downtown core; and since 2000 redevelopment has begun across Downtown area including new hotels/resorts/strip malls/office towers and more residential housing developments "In just a few short years our community has gone from struggling small town to one of great promise - home to world class universities like University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) and American University - while also welcoming top global businesses such as Googleplex," said Mayor John Haggerty

When the United States acquired Alaska from Russia in 1867, it was a part of an effort to open up Northwest territories. The land that now includes Juneau and neighboring communities was first inhabited by the Eskimos, who lived in villages along the Uluk River. In 1876, gold was discovered in what is now Yukon Territory, prompting miners to move into what is now Juneau. Goldmining continued until the early 1900s, but by then the climate and soil were too harsh for most people to continue living there. The first Europeans to visit what is now Juneau were fur traders led by Captain George Vancouver in 1795. The Russian-American Company built a whaling station on Point Barrow Island in 1818 and began trading with North America. In 1829–30, Russian Admiral Grigorii Vasilevich Petrov sent a expedition to find a passage from Siberia to Asia through Alaska but only returned with charts and specimens of plants and animals. In 1839–40, Commodore James Cook sailed past Point Foy on his HMS Resolution during his third circumnavigation of the globe and noted that he had never seen anything like it—the island’s remote location made it ideal for exploitation as a source of fur products such as seal meat. In 1861, John Dutton founded Dutton Land & Mining Company on Kodiak Island after finding coal there from mining operations off Prince Rupert Peninsula in Canada. Between 1861 and 1865, Dutton developed much of present-dayJuneau including First Creek Landing (now known as Government House), Cannery Row (now called Girdwood Quarters), Masonic Temple/Drapery Hall (now known as Maynard House), Cannon Beach (Now known as Government Beach) and Stanley Park (Now know as Dawes Park). On July 15, 1865, Dutton sold his interest in Kodiak Island for $2 million to entrepreneur David Douglas Houghton Sr.. With no natural resources available on Kodiak or any other island nearby suitable for development – except for beach sand – Houghton turned his attention instead towards developing nearby Juneau City which would house many workers engaged in shipbuilding and other industries necessary for Alaska’s growth at the turn of the century. Development proceeded slowly due to lack of funds; however Village lots went up rapidly around Government House starting around 1890 due largely to American efforts sponsored by naval officer Rear Admiral Samuel Skinner Williams who saw potential market demand there while stationed at Sitka under Admiralty Order No 2 dated January 14th 1893: “For protection against attack or robbery occasioned by transient aborigines inhabiting adjacent parts of Southeast Alaska I desire all men found guilty thereof be put beyond sale or lease within this district until their skins have been skinned off” After World War I enters into full swing residents began moving out en masse beginning around 1925 when oil production became legal following an agreement between President Franklin D Roosevelt and Governor Alfred E Royce It wasn’t until 1959 when plans were drawn up for construction of Anchorage International Airport that serious consideration was given toward relocation center southward onto government land overlooking town…. By 1966 about one hundred acres south east corner Warner Street had been set aside for airport use with plans call for its eventual completion by 1984
In 1908, the town of Juneau was platted and named for Rear Admiral George Augustus Cook (1793-1868), Commander in Chief of American Fleet in 1809. The following year, the first school opened in the new town. In 1912, a hydroelectric plant was built and became operational. The town's population rocketed as businesses and residents relocated to the new city center. On January 1, 1933, it became an incorporated municipality with a Mayor-Mayor form of government.
