Consequently if one end gets movedrelatively from its original position then magnification will decrease accordingly

Covering an area of only two square miles (6 km²), it is one of the smallest towns in the country. The town was founded by Mormon missionaries in 1877. It became aghosttown after World War II when many Mormons left for Utah and other parts of America. Today, Sierra Vista is home to a few hundred people who live primarily in its small shopping center and Hotel Sonoran which is also the only hotel remaining from the old ghosttown days. There are no public schools in Sierra Vista; instead, students attend nearby Apache High School or Valley View Elementary School which are both district-operated schools. In addition to private schools there are a few religious organizations that provide pre-school care for their children before they go off to school: Our Lady's School offers kindergarten through eighth grade; St John's Catholic School provides grades PK-8th; and Holy Cross Lutheran Church has a daycare for pre-schoolers up to 4 years old

During World War II, Sierra Vista was a major bomber base for the United States Air Force; it also played a role in developing atomic weapons.
