Cabot is a small town in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 714 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Little Rock-North Little Rock-AR Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name "Cabot" comes from an early settler, John Cabot, who arrived in 1795. He named his farm and village after himself. The first post office in Cabot was established in 1827, and the first store was built in 1828. In 1837, theITT Railroad reached Cabot and changed its name to "Cabot." A Methodist Episcopal church was erected there in 1865 and remains today as one of the town's most important institutions. In 1933, Cabot had its first school bus service which continued until it was discontinued in 1971; however, a now extant school building still stands on Main Street which served as both the original caboose stop for buses and also functioned as a meeting place for community meetings until 2003 when it burned down. A variety of businesses have been located throughout the years in downtown Cabot including hardware stores (1925-1932), banks (1867-1933), grocery stores (1920s-1960s), restaurants (1965-present) and many more since then; but it would be an understatement to say that Downtown Cabot has always been synonymous with truck stop coffee shop Cowboy Donuts & More!

Cabot is a small town in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 1,744 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Little Rock–North Little Rock–Mayflower Micropolitan Statistical Area. The Cabot Historic District contains 104 contributing buildings and 2 contributing sites from 1882 to 1915. The district was designated as a National Register of Historic Places in 1979. In 1882, two brothers named George and John Cabot built a log cabin on the site which they called "Caboose". They were farmers and soon became known for their products: bacon, eggs, butter, cheese, whisky and coffee beans. A post office was established at Cabot in 1893; it remained in operation until 1910. In 1905, the first store opened in Cabot; it was operated by Wertz Brothers Storeowners Inc.. In 1933, Crandall-Wiggins Furniture Company opened its doors here; it remains one of the town's largest employers to this day. The first school in Cabot was open on October 25th 1906 when Mrs. Lillie Haggerty taught 8 students grades 1-5 at her home while her husband Drury ran the school bus down Main Street for children who could not attend school because their parents couldn't afford it. An addition to the house that year served as classrooms for second grade through eighth grade until 1912 when an addition to the west side of town served as Union High School until 1957 when South Central Middle School moved into its present location across from Holy Cross Catholic Church (now First Baptist Church). In 1907-08 there were 10 residents enrolled in grades 1-4 with Mrs Haggerty running classes for 3rd through 5th graders out of her home each weekdays during class hours.; however due to financial limitations Mrs Haggerty discontinued teaching after 9th grade that fallterm due to increasing pupil numbers attending private schools outside of town instead Of adding any more classroom space our Lady had no choice but To close up shop & Give up Her Own Home Which Has Been Situated On The Campus Of Our Alma Mater For Over 100 Years Now! From That Day Forward Our Primary Classroom Activity Was Gathering Materials For Village History Month presentations w/ Local Historian Mr./Msgr./Dr.—Which Happened sporadically Every Other Month Or So We Would Have A Teacher Origin Story About What We Learned From Each Subject Matter And How It Affected Our everyday Life As Well As How We view What Is taking Place Today….Since ThenThere’s Only One Grade PreK thru 12th Grader That Goes To Ms
Cabot was founded in 1819 by Captain John Cabot and his sons, William and Edward. The first post office at Cabot was established in 1821. The town was named for John Cabot, one of the first Americans to visit North America.
