Russellville is a small town in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 1,923 at the 2010 census. It is the municipal seat of Pulaski County. The community was founded on December 25, 1884, by J.M. Russell and Wm. Hinton. It was named for General John Custer (1825-1887), an American cavalry officer who fought in the Mexican–American War and in the Indian Wars. The first post office in Russellville was established on January 3, 1889. The community grew rapidly from its early days as a small farming village to become a major agricultural center with over 100 businesses operating when it became part of the Arkansas Municipal League in 1912. Russellville experienced significant growth during World War II when many local businesses supplied goods and services to military installations throughout the war zone including Fort Chaffee and Camp Robinson near Little Rock; Poteau Air Force Base northwest of Tulsa; and other military locations around Arkansas and Oklahoma. During recent years, Russellville has seen strong residential development with new single-family homes being built along most of its main streets while also seeing an increasing number of businesses opening their doors within the limits of the town itself including restaurants, grocery stores, retailers etc., providing continued vitality to what has always been one of centralArkansas' most vibrant communities

In 1957, Parker Brothers introduced their own manual cleaner kit that utilized shower curtains as collection vessels which allowed users to garden or paint guns while they cleaned them. The Parker Brothers Cleaning Kit remained in production until 1963 when it was replaced by Smith & Wesson’s Pump-Action Gun Cleaning Kit which became available in 1964

Russellville is a small town located in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas. The population was 4,703 at the 2010 census. It lies on the Russellville–Fayetteville line and is part of the Fayetteville-based Madison County. The first permanent settler in what is now Russellville was Captain John Hobby, who built a cabin in 1811. In 1812, Judge James Auld moved to this area from his home near Pine Bluff and became one of the earliest settlers in what would later become Russellville. He married Sarah Ladd, also from Pine Bluff, and they had six children. In 1827, he sold his property to John Purdy for $700. The following year saw the founding of what would beRussellville School District #2 which included present day Russellville and portions of Springdale and Duncan townships. In 1865, Drury Hargrave donated land to create a new town in western Arkansas called Rogers City which eventually became known as Fayetteville proper. However, by 1868 when Fayettevillenumber 2 was created it included all but two square miles of today’s Russellvillethe remaining square mile being annexed by Rogers City The original post office for Russeliville was established on October 1st1869 under the name “Rogers City” A store opened there by Jno Wigglesworth on February 12th 1870 along with gristmill & other early businesses In 1880 Major George Washington Peck organized an agricultural society here which produced hay for local markets then dockedboats brought produce downriver to Griffin & Fayettevillette markets It continued as an Agricultural Societies until 1903 when oil shale production got underway here On January 9th 1907 main street between Third Street east & west Main went through a fire that destroyed most everything except 3 school desks used as meeting rooms for citizens selectmen during their first regular meeting ever held
Russellville was founded in 1821 by Major General George A. Stephenson. The town was named after Colonel James Russell, who had donated the land for the town. The first store in Russellville was built on Main Street and operated by John Witherspoon until it burned down in 1825. In 1826, a new store was built on Fourth Street and operated by Samuel Hinson until it also burned down. In 1830, a mill was built on Third Street and soon became one of the most important businesses in the town. In 1834, a school was opened in Russellville and soon became successful. In 1840, a Methodist Church was erected and quickly became popular with residents. In 1865, a post office was established in Russellville and soon proved to be very successful. The town began to decline during the late 1800s due to numerous factors such as population growth elsewhere, competition from larger towns, and financial difficulties caused by World War I. However, it regained its popularity during the 1920s when many people moved to other parts of Arkansas or left Arkansas for economic reasons. Today, Russellville is an active community with many businesses and services available including a library (opened in 1951), an annual Folk Festival (held since 1978), an ice cream truck festival each year at Christmas time (a tradition started by one of its citizens), as well as several churches including First Baptist which is home to America's oldest continuous black congregationoutside of Africa
