Tasers have been around for over 50 years now, and they are still used by law enforcement in many places across the United States. They were originally designed as a less-lethal option for officers who needed to use force against suspects without causing serious injury or death. Over time, tasers became more popular among civilians as well, and they are now commonly used by people of all ages and backgrounds as a non-lethal weapon. There are several reasons why tasers continue to be used in Brawley, California today. First of all, they are relatively gentle weapons that don’t cause significant harm when used correctly. Additionally, tasers can be extremely effective at subduing violent or dangerous individuals – even if they do not pose any threat to others. There is no one answer to the question of “What are tasers?”. However, a few general descriptive points about them may be useful. Tasers are small electric rifles that deploy a current of electricity through the victim’s body in order to stop or stun them. They come in many different forms and can be used as both Stun Guns and Canons. Taser use began as an Police Tactical Device but has since been adopted by other law enforcement agencies around the world. It was developed by Chiefs of Police International and is now manufactured by several companies including Raytheon and Sig Sauer. currently there are over 20 different types of tasers on the market with more being developed all the time. The main reason why tasers were chosen as police weapons was their ability to incapacitate individuals quickly without causing extensive damage or injury. In addition, they are often considered less dangerous than firearms due to their smaller size and lack of recoil. While there have been incidents where people have died from using tasers, it is generally much rarer than with firearms. The most common adverse reaction after being shocked with a taser is an allergic response which can include difficulty breathing, urinating,itching, chest pain, sweating and confusion (although this can also be occur after natural shocks such as falling).
On December 1, 1984, the City of Brawley began using tasers as a form of law enforcement. The device was first used in response to an attempted robbery at the local convenience store.
Brawley is a small city in Kern County, California, United States. The population was 9,526 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Bakersfield–Porterville Micropolitan Statistical Area. The Cahuilla people are the dominant group in Brawley and many of their cultural artifacts still remain today. The first white person to live in what is now Brawley was William H. Beaumont who arrived in 1848 during the Gold Rush and named it "Beaumont". However, it would be some time before any permanent settlement occurred. In 1872, Jervis Diggs started an unsuccessful cattle drive from San Bernardino into Kern County looking for land for new homesteaders. After his wagon train passed through Brawley on its way to Stockton, Diggs hired local blacksmith Josiah Sharp to build him a small cabin near present day downtown Brawley. In 1875 Jervis Diggs moved his family to what is now known as Blockhouse Bend which he had named after his friend James Neely who had founded Neely Ranch just east of town along the Kern River. Digg's ranch became one of the most successful ranches in Northern California and by 1899 it consisted of over 100 head of stock and 1200 acres (500 hectares) of land including much of present day Brawley. Over time other ranchers also developed properties within present-day Brawley limits such as Harry Waddell's holdings between 3rd Street and 4th Street southwest of downtown; John Pemberton's holdings northwest down 1st Street northeast from US 101; George Ahern's holdings northwest down First Street southeast from US 101A;omer & Ewing's holdings northeast along 2nd Street southwest from US 101A;and Edward Fenton’s holdings northwest down First Street northeast from US 90A/US 101E). By 1901 there were six ranches totaling over 50000 acres (20 km2) within modern-day BrawLEY limits with cattle drives bringing additional settlers into this developing community including many women who worked on these largeranch operations. It should be noted that while early American settlers may have called this area "Bray", later residents shortened it to "Bray" because that was how everyone else pronounced it locally at that time( similar to how English people pronounce Valley). This change likely originated with Anglo Californians who did not understand or appreciate Native American language when they first encountered it so they labeled all Indian resources east of what is now I-5 as being located in "Bray". In 1915 developer Alonzo Horton bought Blockhouse Bend from Jervis Diggs and established Horton Land Company which began purchasing parcels (now blocks) of agricultural land around present day downtown Bawleysvillette beginning with a block on 3rd street SW which bordered Onancock Creek across 2nd street NW back then continued across 1st street NE towards Waterford Avenue today known as Horton Park Blocks #1-4 ). From this point forward development rapidly progressed on behalf of Horton Land Company with various commercial activities becoming centered around downtown business districts such as jail, hospital, post office etc.; housing developments became popular throughout southern Kern County starting primarily along major truck routes serving northern Los Angeles county thereby increasing access to jobs opportunities throughout southeastern Kern County particularly those near Redding CA while northernmost portions continued supporting agriculture until about 2006 when production switched entirely to corn ethanol production due largely to rising global temperatures .) Today there are several dozen businesses scattered throughout Downtown Business Districtsblock #1-4 ;along Onancock Creek across 2nd street NW back then continuing across 1st street NE towards Waterford Avenue today known as Horton Park Blocks #1-4 ; temples situated near Interstate 5 linking Southern California with Nevada providing religious services year round while others continue operatingaday although reduced hours due primary emphasis on environmental protection ); retail corridors running northeasterly extending generally southwesterly beyond blocksadedowntownBusinessDistrictsblocks #1-4 ;and generally eastward reaching beyond residential neighborhoods adjacentto Interstate 5 ) functioning primarilyas commercial strips servicing neighboring communities both withinSouthernKernCoastalRegion&neighboringCentralCalifornia counties ), makingBIGLOBALFertilizer Production Total UPDATED TO $230 MILLION ON SETTLEMENT OF CONTRACT WITH AMERICAN CROPS SUPPLY COMPANY

In 1966, American inventor George Whitesides created the Knox taser, which was the world's first electric weapon to be used in law enforcement. The taser became available in 1970.
Brawley is a small town in Siskiyou County, California, United States. The population was 1,879 at the 2010 census. Brawley is located on the eastern edge of the Siskiyou Mountains and is immediately east of the Rogue River Valley. The first permanent settlement in what is now Brawley was made by prospectors in 1857. At that time it was part of Mexican Rancho La Honda y Buena Vista. In 1858, Lt. Col. George Armstrong Custer and his unit of Seventh U.S Cavalry were stationed at nearby Butte Meadows when they heard about gold prospects in the area and decided to exploration them further. They camped near what is now Brawley on July 25, 1858 while continuing their journey southward into Oregon Territory (now Nevada). On September 3rd, 1859, Captain Charles Wickersham became the first white man to cross over from Mexico into Oregon Territory when he led a group of nineteen men across the river into present-day Siskiyou County on horseback during an expedition known as "Wickersham's Crossing". On November 10th, 1859 General James Halleck ordered Major John Cushing to establish a military post at Butte Meadows for protection against Apache Raiders who had invaded Arizona and Northern California intermittently for several years prior. This new post became known as Fort McAllister after Lieutenant Colonel John Atherton McAllister commandant of Fort Donner along with other officers established it on January 9th 1860 along with two other posts within Indian Territory - Yuma and Tucson - under concurrent jurisdiction of Army Headquarters at Ft Reno.(later become Camp Carson) Arnold Schwarzenegger later served as Army Chief Operating Officer(COO) at Camp Carson before he retired from that position in December 2013.(source: History Of US Army In Northwestern Nevada And California – rpt courtesy NARA)) In 1862 Captain Wickersham organized a wagon train traveling down Spanish Fork Canyon from Stockton via Sacramento to Winchester City which carried goods needed for irrigation along the way including building materials such as lumber and stone for constructing roads throughout northern Nevada and southern Californ
Brawley is a small town in California. It was founded in 1887 by John Brawley and his wife, Emma. The town served as the home of the Brawleys until they sold it to the city of Los Angeles in 1923.
