There is a long and storied history of firearms in Danville, California. The town was founded in 1851 as an agricultural settlement on the banks of the Sacramento River. It quickly became a center for gun manufacturing and trade, and by 1865 it had become one of the largest cities in California. By 1870, gun production had ceased entirely in Danville, but there continued to be large stockpiles of guns around the city. The origins of handguns can be traced back to at least 1847 when three men who would later become known as the Browning brothers designed a simple shotgun called the Rifleman. The Rifleman was successful enough that they began producing pistols using their patent technology. These pistols were called Model 1851s because they were manufactured between July and December 1851 – just months afterDanville incorporation – under license from Colt’s Patent Firearms Manufacturing Company (now Colt Solutions). The first pistols produced by Browning were not actually handguns but rather rifles with barrels shortened to diameter within reason due to lack of available stock at that time (see Fig 1). Thereafter, all handguns developed by Browning were eventually designated “rifles” or “shotguns” even though many model years subsequent featured handgun caliber calibers (i.e., .38 Special/.357 Magnum) despite prior denials from company officials![1] From this beginning until 1860 only revolvers were made outside North America; these revolver models included shotguns such as those produced by George Smith & Wesson ([2]) while holsterless sporting versionshello also existed [3]). Shotgun production increased during this time with efforts led by Samuel Colt himself which culminated with his famous inventionthe revolver which solved many problems previously associated with handguns including ability to fire multiple rounds per minute (.25 seconds), low recoil due to hammer blow being delivered twice per second instead of once per shot (.3 seconds), easy reloading without having to remove magazine(s), etc.[4] On January 6th 1861 Colt patented Improvements To His Pistol Which He Called An American Revolver featuring various improvements over his English designates patent no 75301 dated October 21st 1860,[5] thus starting what would ultimately become known as American Gun Manufacturing Company (AGMC) - now forming part United States Arms Corporation! AGMCProducts reached market saturation early in 1861 leading Henry Repeating Arms Company (HRA)to produce nearly two million revolvers annually from 1861 thru 1865 inclusive! This represents more mass-production than any other manufacturer except General Mills Incorporated ([6]), which manufactured munitions only! In 1862 HRA merged into Winchester Repeating Arms Co., Ltd., becoming perhaps America's preeminent handgun producer through much of both world wars!!!

In 1868, George Atherton sling shot an elk from a distance of over 20 miles while attending a hunt in Butte County. This event helped spur development of the rifle range located in downtown Danville today. The first successful handgun shooting competition was held at the nearby San Miguel Rifle Club by members of theDanville Gun Club on October 10, 1923. Danville, California is a city in Contra Costa County, California, United States. The population was 25,878 at the 2010 census. It is located in the East Bay region of San Francisco Bay. The Danville Shopping Center anchors the downtown area and is home to large Macy's and Sears stores as well as numerous smaller businesses. The city began as a small community on the east side of Danville Creek near present-day Interstate 680 and State Route 238. A post office called Danville was established in 1892, and the first town meeting was held July 9th that year. In 1903, a railroad depot was built in what is now the core of town; it served as the nucleus for many early businesses. When Interstate 680 was constructed through Danville in 1965, most of the original business districts became part of Interstate 80 corridor south of I-680. In 1996,Danville passed an ordinance establishing its own fire department which has since become one of Contra Costa County's most vibrant communities with over 100 firefighters serving within its limits covering all types of emergency response including fires ( arson , car accidents etc.), police activity (crime rates are lower here then most other places), EMS service (including responses to numerous earthquakes throughout Northern California) and hazardous materials response (elevated incidents have included gas leaks from abandoned wells).

Danville was founded in 1874 by Captain George W. Dixon and his wife, Sarah. The town quickly became an important crossroads for settlers in the Central Valley of California. In 1879, Danville was incorporated as a city and began to grow rapidly. It is now the largest city in Contra Costa County, with a population of over 200,000 people. In 1862, Captain Dixon purchased 160 acres of land from the Chabot family in what is now Danville. The captain named the property Rancho San Antonio de la Antiga (later Rancho San Pablo). He also donated some land to the City of Danville for public use. This land later became Point Reyes National Seashore. The first school in Danville was built on this site in 1865 by Mrs. Lydia Morse Cookman and Mr. John Sibley Cookman. The first teacher was Eunice Woods, who taught 7th grade until 1870 when she moved up to 8th grade at East High School after teaching one year at Donaldson’s Mill School near Sacramento. In 1872-3 Mrs. Anna Ladd served as our first principal; she resigned because too much work had been added to her old schedule during “the great war” which had just ended! The present building was erected between 1886 and 1888 by Davenport & Goodrich Builders under contract from President Grover Cleveland with funds provided by Colonel John Haines Casey Executive Vice President Pacific Railroad Company

The town of Danville was first established in 1847. The town was named for General Jonathan Halleck, who played a critical role in the Mexican-American War and was later given the title of "President of California." The first post office was founded in Danville in 1849, and the first school was built in 1850. In 1865, Danville became an incorporated city.
