The first town in this area was established soon afterward by Captain Hutton known as “Huttonville” but it didn’t take long before names started being given to different parts of the valley due to explorer activity!: Fremont – Named after General George Aiton (1793-1860), one of America’s first military commanders during its Independence War against Mexico; Coalinga – Named after Commodore David Worth Cooke (c 1782-1845) who represented British interests in California during the Mexican War; Roscommon – Named after Admiral Diego Rivera y Ferraz(1901-1982), Commander-in-chief Mediterranean Fleet during WWII whose ships anchored off Coast Guard Station Roscommon during World War II.; Burney – Named for Commodore Amos Burney who served with distinction aboard USS Constitution under admiral Dewey; Delano Heights – Named for Senator DonatellO Delano (died 1922) who chaired investigations into public corruption charges brought against President Warren Harding including bribery allegations against his close friend Arthur Anderson; Palmer City – Named after General James Palmer (1802-1865) commander of US Army forces which fought in Polk Indian Wars around Sacramento River(); Soquel Valley – After local resident Maria Quiroga petitioned Governor Edmund Gee (D–Calif.) in 1868 asking him to annex her land north of Truckee Creek because she claimed title thereto through marriage predated any grant from Mexico.; Saugus Harbor/Saugus - original name for incorporated town site today called Georgetown/Saugus - named for Colonel George Washington Saunders Sr., an American Revolutionary hero best known for leading an unsuccessful effortto stop British Royal Navy sailors from burning down San Francisco Bay on September 7th 1777

Fairfield is a city in San Diego County, California. The population was 85,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Greater San Diego Area. The first European to visit what is now Fairfield was Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo on October 20, 1542. He and his men landed on San Diego Bay and explored the area before sailing back home. In 1821, James Hahn founded the town of Mission Viejo east of downtown San Diego as a haven for Methodist missionaries working in East India Company territory during the final years of California's Gold Rush. On May 10, 1835, Alvarado Portilla sold 8 square miles (20 km2) of present-day Fairfield to John Sutter for $600 plus $10 per acre (0.50 ha). The portilla family continued to own most of Fairfield until 1959 when it passed through inheritance to The City Of San Diego Corporation which still owns it today. In 1847–48, Samuel Morse set up a Telegraph Line from Point Loma northward through Rancho Miramar and down into Santa Barbara County but only completed about 40 percent of its journey before he had to turn around due to bad weather at Mt Shasta near Red Bluff south of Sacramento Valley; this line became known as "Morse's Mile". In 1850s–60s many farmers abandoned their crops because they could not get transport away from Hearst Ranch just east of La Jolla and so they starved or died. By 1860 there were few people in Fairfield excepting some Mormons who built an LDS temple there in 1863; by 1870 there were 100 residents with 1 school and no hospital or post office. Many businesses closed because transportation costs were too expensive even though mail service improved greatly with introduction of railways starting in 1881 after US Army Corps surveyor George Ralston took over aftermath purchase from Navy for $5 million In 1889 Charles Goodyear started making rubber tappers shoes out of natural rubber latex instead using much more costly synthetic materials which required refinement especially since other companies got similar patents including John Lewis’ General Tire & Rubber Co., American Can Manufacturing Co., Bethlehem Steel Corp., Imperial Chemical Industries AG &other major companies who made early versions like Eutaw Rubber Works Incorporated also doing business as Goodyear Rubber Company
