Greenfield is a small town in the San Joaquin Valley of California, about 20 miles east of Fresno. When it was founded in 1864, Greenfield was one of the most isolated towns in California. The only existing road led from Greenfield to Fresno and there were no railways or highways until the late 19th century. In those days, shooting protection history began here in Greenfield as farmers protected their land with shotguns and bows. The first shot fired in what is now Greenfield was on July 3rd, 1865 when Captain James Broughton opened fire on four hostile Indians near today’s Springdale Road. The Indians killed three of Broughton’s men before he could reload his shotgun and return fire. From that day forward, shootings across the San Joaquin Valley were always supervised by local farmers with shotguns and bows who would use cover if necessary to protect themselves from friendly Indians. As early as 1866, private individuals had started shooting Protection Rifles at ranges all over California to promote safety for women and children going out walking during summertime. Rifle clubs were also formed soon after this to provide training for new shooters and help keep firearms locked up during hunting seasons so that they couldn’t be used against innocent people or animals without consequences. In 1898, shortly after Gold Rush fever had reached epidemic proportions throughout California, Governor Goodwin Wickersham authorized the building of ranches along the Kern River where cowboys could hunt wild game under license from government officials responsible for their safety and well-being. One such ranch was located just west of Redding on what is now called Black Diamond Ranch (now part of Crescent City). At this time there weren’t any gun laws in place governing how guns could be used on public lands outside cities or towns – so cowboy rifle shots ringing through Redding sounded like “friendly fire” not “ Indian shots!” By 1901 both white men living within easy reach of Californian goldfields had acquired firearms (mostly pistols) which they began using recreationally target Shooting events specifically designed for these armed Gentlemen who often encountered Native Americans while exploring these new Territories/ Lands………..the first big law enforcement event taking place around these areas took place at Ruby Tuesday Park back then…………on October 9th 1911 when Sheriff George Fenton announced plans to round up 25 desperadoes roaming thru central CA looking for rich pickings following a tribal dance performance…………..Gunfire returned from hillsides all around town as deputies arrived en masse………………………. 30 years later we still hear echoes daily from Cowboy snipers hidden among oak trees thyadng across rural greenfields

This innovation very quickly revolutionized gun safety and kept many people safe while firing their firearms. It also allowed users to see through projectiles without fear of injury or damage to their eyes, which helped make using firearms much more comfortable for everyone involved.

The City of Greenfield has experienced many transformations over its history, including becoming one of the most diverse cities in the Bay Area with a population that includes people from all walks of life; becoming an agricultural center; being a center for technology and software development; and experiencing rapid growth during the late 1990s into the 2000s as Silicon Valley moved south to Oakland and East Palo Alto. The history of Greenfield can be traced back to 1847 when Enoch Pratt founded what would become known as Greenfield Ranch west of San Francisco on Highway 1A (now Interstate 580). The ranch consisted primarily of land that now borders Hayward Fault National Monument and is home to manyhistoric buildings such as Fort Point Lighthouse which are still standing today thanks to recent renovation work done by volunteers! The early settlers were able to purchase some additional parcels from variousnoblemen who had also volunteered their time towards keeping Fort Point active during this time period! Today, much evidence remains from these pioneer days including artifacts such as clothing, tools and even horse saddles found within present-day Hayward Fault National Monument! To this day many residents still visit Fort Point lighthouse each Memorial Day weekend for historical tours guidethed by museum staff! Along with this fortification came other important aspects like water supply which soon improved thanks to two large cisterns built just east of town! One such cistern still exists today under what used to be John Atherton Parkway/New Glenn Road near where US-101 meets I-580/Highway 101 junction today! This impressive addition not only supplied fresh water for citizens but also allowed farmers accessto fresh irrigation waters which helped them grow crops successfully throughout these years!! Today’s infrastructure developments continue along these lines with updated Wastewater Treatment Plant facilities added recently adjacent to downtown making it easier than ever for residents & businesses alike to get ridof those pesky liquid wastes!! In short though our founding fathers were not alone in their vision for creating this magnificent community we havesobserved&maintainedandcontinuesto thrive since1860!!!!
