The discovery led to an increase in population as miners started arriving from all over America for claims on the new land. Businesses such as saloons, grain mills, fruit stands and other businesses were built along US Route 66 which served as a transportation route for goods brought into and out of California during this time period. The arrival of automobile traffic helped enhance tourism throughout much of California during this time period; Kerman became known as "the automotive capital of California". By 1923, however, oil had become more important than gold in Californian economy so mining stopped completely. Today only a few remains of old mining camps can be seen around town while most of the buildings have been replaced with new ones since then – making Kerman one of what are known ashistorically uninhabited areas within metropolitan Fresno or Bakersfield boundaries.. As one might expect given its location on top of a basin filled with water that draining quickly to go down into Mono Lake below – making it difficult if not impossible maintain agriculture without irrigation – much development took place outside Of town limits including many factories which produced consumer goods like shoeshine mirrors automobiles window mirror arms bicycles oil lamps candles radios watches phonographs kerosene lamps .. These factory towns attracted people who desired easy access to cheap labor but also created problems due to air pollution caused by heavy industry activity along I-5 outside city limits……….Today there are still occasional reports about ancient buried artifacts being uncovered near downtown but these usually turn out not to be related to ancient native americans living hereabouts but rather modern day developers working within city limits…..

Kerman is a small town located in Inyo County, California. It is the home of Kerman Army Depot and the Kerman Air Force Base. The depot was founded in 1923 by the United States Army and closed in 1984. The air force base was established in 1945 and closed in 1992. Today, Kerman is primarily a agricultural community with a single high school and two churches. The first settlers to what is now Kerman were Mexican laborers who worked on the Rancho San Felipe Adobe mission near present-day Yuma, Arizona. They called their land "Nimbus," meaning "land of dreams." In 1847, Manuel Nieto organized a party of twenty-five men to explore eastward from Sonoma Valley for new land grants. Their goal was to find sources of water essential for agriculture and ranching operations in what is now East Mojave County. On October 12, 1847 they reached the eastern edge of present-day Inyo County when they discovered an area that would later be known as Nimbus Creek Valley. They named their new land Iverson Creek after one of their members, Isaac Iverson (1801-1872), leader of this expedition. In 1923, the United StatesArmy founded Kerman Army Depot at Nimbus Creek Valley to serve as a logistical support center for American troops fighting against Nazi Germany during World War II. The depot operated until 1984 when it was closed due to budget cuts by then President Ronald Reagan's Department of Defense agency, military Departments being subordinate to civilian agencies at that time. At its peak occupancy it had over 5500 employees and processed over 350 million pounds (140 metric tons) worth of materiel each year.. After closure, much inventory must have been moved out or destroyed due to environmental concerns around Nimbus Creek Valley including bulldozers left dirty and filled with trash still lying more than five years after closure; also found were scores upon scores of ancient artifacts dating back 1,000 years! As part of efforts initiated by state Senator Lois Wolk (D) following her election victory in November 1994 over incumbent Republican John Anderson (R), government officials entered into negotiations with local ranchers about selling off parcels within Nimbus Creek Valley which would result in development rights covering approximately 100 acres outside the unincorporated communities situated along both banks thereof; these developments never materialized however as state legislators instead passed legislation creating an authority within Inyo County specializing exclusively in land management issues relating thereto – currently known as “the Agency” – making it difficult or even impossible for private individuals or developers ever again interested either directly or indirectly therein without prior agreement through formal written documentation process… thus fulfilling statutory mandate set forth therein: '(a) To encourage orderly development consistent with natural resources.,' etc.; etc.). On September 10th 1996 local resident Dick Fenton placed an 8 foot tall human remains discovered next to Bighorn Sheep Crest just south side US 101 on his property adjacent properties owned by Dianne Feinstein where she resides today between US 101 & Highway 108 just north side Mexico Border fence

In 1876, the community changed its name to Kerman after Elias Kerman, a rancher who donated land for the town. The first post office in Kerman was established on January 3, 1870. The first store opened in 1871 and closed in 1872. A flour mill opened in 1875 and operated until 1886. A sawmill also opened in 1875 and operated until 1886.
