Another important aspect about early artillery was howitzers – small cannons that could launch huge shots across long distances at high speed! As these weapons became more common in Europe over time (thanks to Napoleonic Wars), merchants began importing large quantities of them into North America starting around 1825. At first these weapons were only used for artillery warfare – but as soon as they proved themselves effective enough against infantry troops (and later cavalry), armies began purchasing them in large numbers for use against Indian tribes living near fortifications such as those located along the American West coast during this time period. Eventually these batteries came equipped with machineguns which allowed commanders to shoot down entire columns or regiments without having any losses inflicted on their own side! From there things really started changing with regards to ammunition production within Lomita County! By 1880 all but two factories closed because too much competition had developed between local manufacturers and European firms looking for access to new markets following World War I (the exceptions being Armour & Corbett Manufacturing Company and J H Spearman & Sons).
