Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid were later spotted crossing over into Mexico near Springdale Ferry Bridge in Lone Pine Canyon on November 8, 1929 just south of Independence Monument Road west of downtown Moreno Valley; this event is generally considered as marking beginning of Border War between US & Mexican forces
