In the early 1900s, Ripon was a small town in California's Central Valley. It was home to more than 50 families and had a population of about 1,000 people. The town's only industry was agriculture, which produced goods for local markets. Ripon didn't start making firearms until the 1940s. At that time, it was one of just a few Rifleman Outfitters in the United States selling AR-15 rifles. In the 1950s and 1960s, Ripon became known as an especially hotbed of AR-15 rifle development due to its proximity to Berkeley and Stanford Universities. Today, Ripon is considered an up-and-coming gun manufacturing center thanks to its strong relationships with both FBI and Department of Defense firearms manufacturers. Ripon, California is a small city in Kern County, California. The population was 9,567 at the 2010 census. It lies on the banks of the Fresno River and about an hour's drive from downtown Los Angeles. Ripon is known for its wine industry and for its annual Ripon Fair. The first people to arrive in this area were the Tongva people who called it Yerba Buena (Buena being their word for "good") because of the abundance of waterfowl that inhabited this area. One of the first buildings in Ripon was a log cabin built by George Hahn in 1858. In 1887, James Hudson bought 100 acres near present-day Ripon and began expanding his vineyards into what is now Kern County. In 1898, he developed what today is known as Hudson’s Rancho Vineyards into one of Southern California’s largest wine estates with over 1 million cases produced annually. In 1905, president Theodore Roosevelt visited Yosemite National Park and while there appointed Wm Humes as Superintendent of Agriculture within Yosemite National Park; Hudson followed suit two years later becoming Deputy Director under then Chief Warden John Muirhead Hudson died suddenly on October 16th 1912 at age 68 following a long illness which had been brought on by overwork at his estate during World War I With many young farmers out of work after WWI ended,1920 saw also beginnings to development here when Agricultural College opened doors here with professor Jens Eckhardt After WWII ended things picked up with big increase in housing stock during 50's thru 70's due to tremendous migration here from other parts of state during that time

Ripon is a small town located in Kern County, California. It was founded in 1876 by Adolphus Ripon, a German immigrant. The town has been nicknamed the "Cities of the East" because of its location on the east side of the Great American Desert. The first permanent settler in Ripon was George Prentice. He and his wife, Emma (née Haines), built a cabin on the east side of Misery Mesa in 1876. The Prenters were followed by John Wolkentin and his family who arrived in 1877. Wolkentin was the first person to purchase land for Ripon from Juan Bautista Vasquez and he named it after his father-in-law, Jens Wilhelm Wolkentin. By 1879, all but one of Ripon's original citizens had perished in what is now called the Gold Rush of Kern County. The last resident to arrive was Frederick Clements who arrived in 1880. Clements' parents had come to California from Germany four years earlier with their son Frederick Jr.. In 1886, George Mapes arrived at Ripon and established a mercantile business enterprise which would continue until 1912 when it merged into Klesner's Mercantile Company Mapes also donated land for school districts 1 through 4 which are now known as Rancho San Luis Obispo Unified School Districts #1-4; City College District#2; and Valley View Elementary School District #3 A post office operated at Ripon from 1888 until 1911 when it merged into that of Kernville Ripon dialect is still spoken today by some residents
