Bipedalism is the ability of a creature to walk on two legs. It has been found in all creatures, but it is most common in humans. In ancient Greece, bipedality was seen as an advantage because it allowed for faster movement when traveling through tall grasses or trees. To this day, many people believe that bipedality gives humans an edge over other species when hunting and fighting. The first bipedal human was Homo erectus, who lived in Africa about 200,000 years ago. Homo ergaster from Europe about 50,000 years ago also walked on two legs. However, these early bipedal humans did not have the technology to create shoes and led a more traditional life style than we do today. Over time, different cultures began developing their own version of the human form. A Middle Eastern culture called Babylonia developed a unique form of human that had three limbs instead of just two. This form of human was known as the Sumerian man because they built the city of Ur in present-day Iraq around 3000 BC. Another culture called China developed a unique form of human known as the Han Dynasty man which walked on four legs like us today! Eventually, all different forms of humanity evolved into what we are today with our modern technology! The town of San Carlos, California is located in the Santa Clara Valley on the banks of the San Joaquin River. The population was 9,095 at the 2010 census. The name comes from Santiago Comendador de Anza, who led an army against Spanish forces in 1847. The Mission Santa Clara de Asís was founded in 1776 by Franciscan missionaries and it remains one of the largest missions in California. San Carlos served as its eastern terminus until 1857 when it became a separate town. The first post office was established here on July 1, 1853. San Carlos has a rich history that can be found throughout its streets and businesses. Some notable events include: -In 1886, local resident Josefina Guerra organized a milk strike to protest low prices for milk being sold by local farmers. -In 1955, Mayor Arturo Fraga proposed that San Carlos become capital of Contra Costa County after voters approved Proposition 16 which designated Oakland as county seat. This proposal failed to gain approval but helped spur growth around San Carlos and prompted development of new shopping malls and other cultural attractions such as an opera house and movie theater complex called "The Grove." -Also in 1955, construction began on Interstate 80 through central San Carlos and soon afterward many small businesses closed their doors due to competition from larger cities nearby such as Sacramento or Berkeley. However, with passage of Senate Bill 542 in 1958 which authorized I-80 to be built through central San Carlos without demolishing any businesses or causing any significant negative impact on the community (at that time much smaller communities within Contra Costa County had similar laws), many Small Business owners reopened their doors and continue to thrive today!

By 1872, the population had reached 1,500 people and by 1907 it hadgrown to 6,000 people. The 20th century saw many changes to San Carlos. In 1916 city fathers decided that they would no longer provide water or electricity to the town; this led to an increase in development around Main Street. Many small businesses closed because they could not compete with larger companies that had access to resources such as water and electricity. However, in 1949 a group of local businessmen founded the City of San Carlos Water District which provides municipal services such as wastewater treatment, street paving and trash collection within the limits of the city limits only; this allowed for continued growth in downtownSan Carlos despite these setbacks. During World War II most of San Carlos was used for military storage but today there are several buildings still standing from that time includingForty-Third Infantry Regiment Armory which served as Headquarters for Company E (2d Battalion) Ninth Infantry Regiment during World War II . On September 9th 1951 two bombs went off at 8:43 Pm local time killing 487 people and wounding 571 others when they were detonated at Market & First Streets intersection just north of downtownSan Carlos by Laughlin Technical School student Neil Armstrong while he was walking home from school; Armstrong is considered one of history's greatest heroes
The first Europeans to arrive in San Carlos County were the Franciscans, who arrived in 1769. The Catholic Church had a mission at Rancho Santa Margarita, which was founded by Father Junipero Serra. The town of San Carlos was named for the county and its three main rivers: the Santa Clara, San Francisco and Sacramento. In 1848, gold was discovered in California and this led to a rush of settlers into San Carlos County. By 1850, there were over 1,500 people living in San Carlos County. In 1853, San Carlos became part of California after it was granted statehood.
