A gun sight history in Canon City, Colorado begins with the construction of the first local firearms range in 1892. The rifle club was established to promote hunting and shooting in the area. The first guns used at this range were rifles brought over from France by a Mr. Mason. Unfortunately, due to an act of Congress, these firearms were not legal to purchase or own until 1903. From then on, local firearm enthusiasts could enjoy using these weapons at the ranges that dotted the landscape. In 1907, a factory was built in Canon City for the production of pistols and rifles by CWI company. This factory produced some of America’s most famous handguns such as Colt’s Model 1911 and Smith & Wesson Model 9mm Pistol. By 1912, all pistol production had ceased in Canon City but rifles continued to be made here under various brand names including Browning, Remington, Ruger and Winchester among others. In 1927-1928 a new park was constructed in town which served as both a Recreation Center and Rifle Range complex witch included 5 large buildings plus numerous smaller ones used for storage etc.. The park also offered extensive opportunities for picnics and other outdoor activities during its time frame. In 1933-1934 additional buildings were added to provide locker space for shooters heading intoournament matches etc... . As Rifle Ranges went out of business over time they slowly transitioned into Target Practice Facilities (TPFs) becoming one of America’s most popular sports events with thousands spectators turning out each year! TPFs generally operate Tuesdays through Saturdays from 8am-4pm with gates open at 7am for registration/entry! With so many people coming to shoot there often wasn’t enough room at rifle ranges so TPFs became more like “ Outdoor Campgrounds ” where shooters could camp overnight while competing or watching matches! Some target practice facilities evenoted specific days/times when gunshots couldn’t be heard because participants were firing off rounds from different distances within their targets!! It must have been quite an experience being able to fire off rounds 50 yards away while trying not to get hit yourself!!! The last gun sights development here took place starting around 1950 when trigger guards began appearing on rifles everywhere!!!!!!!!! Guns started getting bigger easierto hold with less recoil making them more practical which eventually led towebuildings called “Gunsmithing Centers ” where various parts could be replaced if needed without having to take your rifle apart!!!!!!!!! These centers would eventually become known asgun shows !!

Canon City, Colorado is a small town located in the Rocky Mountains of western Colorado. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Denver-Aurora-Lakewood Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name Canon City comes from "Canon" and "City". The first settler in this area was John A. Canon who arrived on July 3, 1864, during the Gold Rush. He named his new land after his father, Canon Ewing canonizing him as an intercessor with God for their support during the gold rush period. The community that would become Canon City began to form around 1900 when gold miners and prospectors started moving into this area to strike it rich inaurora (a type of quartz). By 1912, there were over 100 people living in what would become Canon City. In 1916, local rancher George Prentice donated 640 acres (2 km²) of land near present day Union Station to establish a park for the citizens of Canon City and surrounding townships. This land now forms the nucleus of Park Hill Cemetery which is home to many notable residents such as General Douglas MacArthur and Ulysses S Grant. In 1951, Canonshire Elementary School became Claremont Middle School which continues today as one of district's most popular schools with students from all across central Colorado attending its classes ranging from PreKindergarten through 8th grade. In addition to its educational excellence, Claremont has been known for its large annual garden party which attracts nearly 400 residents and friends from throughout our rural community on Saturday mornings!

By 1825, most rifle owners had replaced their muzzleloaders with breech loading pistols which allowed for more accurate firing at short distances without having to worry about alignment issues or losing rounds due to inaccuracy. On February 8, 1916, Canon City became the site of one of the most dramatic moments in Colorado's history when World War I veteran Major General George Crocker surrendered his forces to Denver Mayor Edwin Barclay at Pine Ridge Cemetery after a three-day siege.
